This moving company was the worst my family has ever dealt with in my husband's military career. They scheduled our packing on Thurs/Fri, then called and cancelled to just one day of packing Fri, picking up Mon. By the end of the day Friday, they ran out of packing paper and we're just stuffing things in random boxes to include picture frames. We had to complain to get them to pack properly which we have never had to do. We also had to have the manager come out to verify damage already done by faulty packing procedures. The Packers sent on Friday were rude, sloppy, and took constant smoke breaks. Monday's pick up went somewhat better but we still had a good bit of damaged property at delivery. I would definitely not recommend anyone using this company
THEFT! If you are stationed at Fort Rucker and are assigned J&G Moving and Storage as your packing company, request a new company ASAP! Had two watches stolen from me and several items broken.
Firstly, do not use this company. Unfortunately for us, this ragtag team was subcontracted by "United Van Lines" for our move. Nearly all of our items and furniture were damaged due to their negligence and incompetence. Broken glass, broken and marred furniture, and your items obviously being rifled through are a few of the horrors that await you, should you elect to utilize this "company".
The local moving company here at the destination, commented that they had never seen items packed so poorly into the shipment crates in the entirety of their careers. One of our kitchen chair table legs was completely pushed through our box spring mattress, just for an example.
It's also worth mentioning that they damaged our rental house while carelessly moving our things, took multiple smoke breaks during the loading process, through trash in the bushes outside our home, and could not spell well enough to fill out a simple inventory form. What took the previous moving company with two men 2 hours, took this moving company with three "men" 5 and a half hours. That time was certainly not spent ensuring our goods would arrived undamaged.
We have moved at least 9 times in the past 7 years, and this is by far the worst experience and damage we have ever experienced. If Google offered an option for zero stars, that is what I would elect to rate this embarrassment to the moving industry. It grieves me to even give them 1 star.
Over 20 broken/damaged items in my shipment. Employees left before job was done. Still needed to have furniture put together as well as move furniture upstairs.
I liked that the people were respectful. That is literally all I liked. They basically threw things into boxes. They labeled a few items and it would be packed with other things. They left the screws and parts for our stuff behind. During the move from Alabama to Wisconsin of course we lost them. We can't find our remote for the tv or the power cords for them. They have thrown things everywhere. They put things in the box with our tv yet left the screws in it for the stand. If they were going to cram things with the tv why not cram the power cord In there? Maybe the remote? Our shelf was broken in half. My collectibles were damaged because they crammed a duffel bag of clothes on top of them. DO NOT USE THEM. We are very unfortunate that the military made us. Save your money for a good company.
This company is not equipped to handle the volume of moves they are accepting. They received my household goods on the 10th of December and told me they could not deliver it until the 28th of December. I understand if they are that busy, but maybe they shouldn't be accepting new business if they are not equipped to handle it. Please do not utilize this company!!!!!
The General Manager of this company was the GM of another company (Xtreme moving) up until December 2014, when he up and disappeared. My belongings that has been in storage were left in a vacated building by Mr R. Hooker and his employees without so much as a phone call. I received a phone call from the owner of the building telling me that my stuff had been abandoned and I had TWO weeks to get it out of their building. (Sadly this was during Christmas and my mother's surgery. The storage was in GA, my mother in TN). In my opinion I would say run. From here on out I do not think I will ever trust another company in the moving and storage industry. (Other than the wonderful group that helped me through this ordeal: All my Sons Moving. All my sons moving turned my horrible experience into a positive one!)
J&G Moving of Elba, AL does NOT need to be handling anyones belongings!
They lost/misplaced some of my items. Disassembled my furniture at their storage facility and subsequently lost the hardware. Then they refused to accept responsibility for the lost hardware citing it should have been disassembled before if got there. They also ripped shelving down by severely overloading them, the damage they did to my home was also not their responsibility citing "poor craftsmanship" as a reason for the destruction of my property. Additionally during my partial unpack they made piles alternating boxes of cloths followed by home goods followed by more cloths and so on repeating. Toiletries to include our plunger and toilet brush where found in a pile of my wife’s cloths. This company has no pride, integrity, or moral values.
Would never use them again and wouldnt recommend them to anyone!
