  oh irvington, the people in charge of this town are no better than the people who run nj. They are both corrupt. If you take a walk through irvington you will see foreclosed houses that are vandalized everywhere. Due to the high property taxes. The people who call the shots in nj are brainless. If you think about it you would rather keep property taxes so high that thousands of people lose their home which is then vandalized and devalue the rest of the houses rather than making property taxes lower to encourage more home owners in. Some smart people in charge of this state i tell ya but thats beside the point. Irvington is so corrupt that they will give you a parking ticket after the street sweeper has swept and the only way to fight it is in court. They put two parking sign warning all the way at the end of the street literally withing 2 feet of each other. Therefore, the people eho live up top will never see the signs at the dead end and they will lose their case if they try to fight it in court but this town will soon be another detroit or camden, because they continue to exploit the residents for money. As if the $10,000 property taxes a year aint enough. SMH

  Only town where everything is behind. The only town that gives you a parking ticket for sweeping the street but never sweep the street. The only town where they get money to fix the roads but use the money for there own use. The only town that "sweeps" the street twice a day just to get money from pple. Where do you expect pple to park their cars when you sweep the street both sides at the same time. Irvington is the worst town to live in, am embarrassed to tell pple that i live in irvington

  Stopped on 18th street to buy some fish. Before we even got out of the car, a couple people came up and tried to hustle us. Then the police came and WE were arrested for 'loitering, with intent to purchase illegal substance.' Handcuffed and carted to jail.
  NEVER go to Irvington if you are white. You will get screwed.
