Go on a weekend! It may be crowded but they’ll get you seated quickly and the weekend breakfast specials are spectacular! The crab cake benedict is life changing. Paired with one of their from-scratch Bloody Marys and you will never want to leave. I’ve been eating there regularly for two years and have never had a bad experience.
Homemade corned beef hash is some of the best I've ever had! Servers are friendly and helpful. Great brunch!
Great food! I had a lemon ricotta pancake (absolutely delicious) with home fries and ham. The service was good too. It's a very cozy restaurant with a bustling diner atmosphere. I would definitely go back!
Probably the best breakfast place in Cleveland Heights. They always have great daily specials. Open for lunch too!
Very good place for breakfast and brunch. Food tastes great! Place is crowded on the weekend but that's only because it's good. Food is worth the wait.
Im from Pittsburgh, the city of Rings, and I don't know what everyone is complaining about. We have like 2 diners and the lines are always long. I end up not being able to eat there! The inn on Coventry was delicious. I had a egg scramble with veggies, sausage and spinach. The waitress was loud and crass(just like me) and a customer around the corner yelled and the cooks yelled "Ahhh shut up!!!!!!" I felt right at home!
Oh my gosh finely we found a place that's has a great breakfast!! No fuss, no fancy promos or promises, just good home cooking!! We are definitely making this place our breakfast spot!
Great breakfast, great prices. Better get there early cause this place fills up fast!
A Cleveland Heights staple. Great, friendly service and a true home-cooked feeling menu. Have never left feeling hungry!
I hope my review gets posted. Somehow I thought I was reviewing a Japanese place.
the Inn on Coventry is a great place for breakfast or brunch. The portions are huge. The food is delicious. They make a powerful Bloody Mary.
I'll be back for sure.
First, let me say a lot of people love this place. I'm the only one I know that isn't thrilled about it.
OK, my issues are that everything I've ordered has been just adequate. I usually go for the breakfast options. I think I got a lunch item once. None of them have wowed me.
Breakfast food is easy to make well. It is very hard to make something extraordinary. Their omelettes are no better than what you'd get at any restaurants. In fact, they undercooked the vegetabkes. Their home style potatoes are usually undercooked to my taste too. I like them well browned and mostly crispy.
Their corned beef hash and French toast are very good, but you can only get them if you order them on their own. You can't sub a side for corned beef hash or French toast, even if you were willing to pay more. If you want French toast you have to get a full order for $5. I've tried their skillets and biscuits and gravy too and both were just alright.
Don't get me wrong, all the food has been good, it's just that it's only just good. There is zero wow, but they charge wow prices.
Lastly, the service is almost always super slow. Yes, they are always packed, but when each of the wait staff only have 3 tables there is no excuse for not seeing your server for 20 minutes at a time or having to wait 20 minutes for your check after asking for it. It should not take an hour or more from the time you're seated to get some breakfast, pay, and be on your way.
If you want good, really cheap, fast breakfast try Irv's on S. Taylor and Cedar before 1pm.
This place is really good and worth the wait when you get there. Seriously, if they tell you to come back in an hour after you put your name in, it's worth it. The food here is really good, although they pack you in like sardines. I'm from New Jersey where diners are king, and this place rules. Go here. Also, order the Irish Benedict, you won't regret it.
