I have been here many times, and every time they have been good. The service is a bit slow, but that is to be expected when it is cooked right in front of you.
Food taste amazing every visit. If you sit down at a table instead of getting it cooked right in front of you, the food comes out within 15 mins at the most! Servers can be rude at times.
I always hear horror stories about this location. From personal experience the employees there are very rude, they do not care about customers happiness. Went for lunch and the serving size was fit for a child. I finished my whole plate (which never happens at the Robinson location). And the manager/owner/whoever is always leaving a bad taste in someone's mouth.
I got the hibachi and it was like a meal with a show. I've never had so much fun waiting for my food. The amount of food you get (soup, salad, and the main dish) was the perfect amount of food for me. It filled me up without making me uncomfortable afterwards. If you have food allergies, you may want to avoid the hibachi. Prices were a bit high but the ingredients seemed to be of nice quality. I went during lunch and did not have to wait very long, but I'm sure it gets busy at dinner. Parking is plentiful due to to Waterworks being a huge shopping center. However, this particular building is pretty hidden so it's easy to miss if you're not going to Waterworks specifically for Ichiban.
My wife is vegetarian. We asked hostess before we were seated if they had tofu. She told us they did, so we were seated for lunch. I ordered steak, and my wife ordered the tofu. Meals were cooked, and no tofu came out. My wife ate the veggies and rice, like everyone else gets, and the meal was over. Check came and we were charged full price for both lunches. I asked the manager (and I think he is the owner? or son of owner?) and he said they didn't have tofu that day. Sometimes they do, and sometimes they don't. He said there was nothing he could do for us. Not even comp our drinks. We won't be back.
I have only been here once in the past 7 or 8 years, but I had a great experience. Our waitress (didn't catch her name) was very sweet and attentive, and our hibachi chef was very talented and put on a great show, getting our entire table involved. The food was amazing - my scallops were cooked perfectly! I will definitely be coming back here in the future. It is a bit pricey, but you are paying for the show, and it's comparable to other Hibachi steakhouses.
ICHIBAN WATERWORKS IS HORRIBLE!!! Chef sucked. He overcooked food and did not perform any of the hibachi shenanigans, which was the reason we decided to take my BFF's granddaughter. He totally ruined the whole experience. And the manager insulted my intelligence by defending his cook with the lie that guests MUST REQUEST that their cook give the routine hibachi cooking experience to guests. THIS IS NOT MY FIRST VISIT MR MANAGER, BUT IT SURELY WILL BE MY LAST!!! FOOD AND SERVICE SUCKED MY LAST 2 VISITS!!!I WONT BE BACK!!!
Quick hibachi service. I crave their rock shrimp appetizer; perfectly light tampura. Great for family celebrations and a less expensive alternative to Benihana/Nakama.
They have a birthday special and they light up a flower and give you free ice cream
My food was pleasant and the price wasn't totally ridiculous. Great place to come for smaller parties.
I made a reservation for a group of 6 of us for dinner on Friday, July 1 at 7:30. We were seated on time which was good but that was the only good thing about this place. Our server was rude and when you would say thank you or anything she just looked at you. She brought our drinks and when placing on the table spilled it over the side of the glass on four drinks, she basically threw our soup and salad bowls at us when placing them on the table, one person in our group had dropped their fork and had to ask several times for a replacement, we had to ask several times for napkins as he our server just didn't bring them, our cook made us wait for more yum yum sauce until he cleaned the grill when we asked while he was still cooking and he kept telling us to wait. We asked for the manager and Kevin came to our table. We told him everything that was wrong and he more or less dismissed us and told us to enjoy our meal and walked away. I called the next day and he was the manager again and I explained that I would like to speak to his supervisor as he was the person last night that dismissed us and was very unprofessional and he asked if I would like the telephone for him and I told him yes. He asked me if I was the person from the party of 6 and I said yes, he then proceeded to tell me that they have cameras and that he went to review it and that everything I told him last night was a lie as his server did nothing wrong with the water and I told him I never said one thing about water and asked for the number. He then informed me that he told me the wrong thing and that he couldn't give me the number for his supervisor as he wasn't allowed to do that. I said oh you offered and now your not allowed. He said that I could call his manager Adam but that he was out of town and wouldn't return for two weeks. I asked that there is no one else I could talk to and he said that I could call another general manager a another location. He gave me that number and I called and spoke to Jason who was to look into the matter and get back to me. He hasn't done that as of yet but I will be calling the corporate office on Tuesday as this being the holiday weekend. I gave one star as that was the lowest but they deserve none. Kevin is very unprofessional and shouldn't be allowed to be in that position at all. I would recommend you don't go to this location at all.
