Our MissionProviding a Christ-focused nurturing environment to empower women and their children to become productive, self-sufficient, contributing members of their community.Services ProvidedHope House of McAlester was designed to be more than just a safe place to stay, but a home in which women could progress to meet their personal and professional goals. Hope House of McAlester chooses not to accept state or federal funding, it is able to operate as faith-based and also able to assign no specific time-limit to a resident's stay. Our program requires residents to participate in the services available and scheduled events such as: church services of their choice, morning meditation/fellowship meetings with the house and staff, weekly volunteer work in the community, exercise courses, house chores and employment or housing search. Individual goals for wellness are also set; for example, clients who have a history of substance abuse or a mental health diagnosis may be required to attend substance abuse classes or a mental health assessment for counseling. Through follow-up meetings we are able to hold clients accountable for the goals they set in their case management assessment. We also make changes or set new goals according to their progress.
