One of the ladies in the office is very rude. In the lease it stated that they would take care of the outside of the property I am renting. When winter came, the stairs, sidewalks, and parking lot were covered in ice and snow. I waited a couple days hoping they would come and shovel and treat it, but decided to give them a call after nothing happened. The lady on the phone was very rude and outright refused to do anything about it. I had to miss work because I would not get out of my apartment, let alone the parking lot.

They will also call and badger you about your plans for the next year 5 months before your lease is up. They were calling my roommate and I every day sometimes 2-3 times a day. Each time we told them that we weren't sure yet. Eventually they pressured my roommate into telling them that we would stay for another year.

This company does not care about you. They don't care if something is wrong in their property. They just care about the money that they make each month.

If there was a moment were I can rate 0 stars on this review, I would. Carole Ford has possible the worst customer service provided here in Warrensburg. Below my review, as you can see, are recurring issues that cant be bothered to be fixed, repaired, cleaned, and negotiated by the tenets to the land lord.

This is my second place to rent here in Warrensburg, and I have never had so many issues in my first apartment that I had with my significant other.

I am shocked and appalled that she has yet to be sued for the amount of health code, and safety violations that I have read in the comments. As a word of advice, never rent from this place. The land lord/management will not repair a single thing and will make you pay every dime for something that is not 'clean'.

I'd like to start this review by telling you about Carol. If you've ever had the pleasure of meeting Carol, you wouldn't be surprised if you heard she won the Olympic gold medal for terrible customer service. Doing her job seems like a major inconvenience and she is extremely rude over the phone. She acts as if everything is the tenants fault, and even gets her stories mixed up. More on that later. The other lady is nice, but doesn't really tell you anything about the apartments, just opens the door for you to look around.

We signed for a lease with this company last-minute because we needed a place to stay for college. The complex looked alright, and the unit we were originally going to get looked great. We ended up in a different one, that was obviously not cleaned and had roaches. So we called for them to clean and spray for roaches so that we could move in. A couple weeks go by and the place is still uncleaned and the roaches are still there. So we do a little bit of our own pest control so that we can at least live there. For four months, we fought roaches until we finally took care of it ourselves, because they weren't going to do anything but "spray", which did absolutely nothing. We called for them to do more, but they would only have their guy come out and spray, which you'd think after five sprays and no difference they'd be willing to accept that it was a bigger problem and they needed to bring out the big guns. Once we called confronting them about that, Carol didn't believe that we could still be dealing with roaches. She made up some story about how one of us brought home a gun cabinet and found roaches (My roommate and I don't have a gun cabinet so maybe someone else was also having roach problems, which wouldn't surprise me), and nearly accused us of being the reason that they were there, despite them being there before us.

I will never sign a lease with Home Locators again, nor will I ever recommend them unless you have NO OTHER OPTION. Don't be like my roommate and I and ignore the reviews, thinking that it's just the people who are the problem. Our current landlords are a thousand times better, and we have no issue with them, or them with us. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for apartments.

They don't understand losing a loved one in the family. Called them and left a message stating I had to rush home due to my father being deathly ill, and still charged me for late rent.

Horrible experience with the office staff. Carol actually hung up on my when requesting that we have the front door repaired because you can see through the door, which is a huge safety concern. I am not looking for reasons to talk to anyone in this office, but I do expect that things in my apartment be prepared and repaired when needed. I hope that whomever owns this business takes a look soon at how people who are paying them are being treated by their staff.

These are quite possibly the worst people to do business with on the planet. Aside from being shown a different property than the one we leased, the property we did get was in this kind of shape. Quite frankly, it's an atrocity. The pictures detail the condition our apartment was in on the day we moved in, after we were told that it was supposed to have been cleaned and the carpets were cleaned. I just wish I could have gotten a picture of the 1" of dirt accumulated on the air filter for the air handler.

Within a month, my wife was in the ER twice in the span of three days with breathing problems caused by mold spores growing in the apartment. We suspect that it was growing in the air handler because of obvious water problems in the furnace room (see pictures). We had doctors orders to move out of the property, and asked the office to clean the duct work before breaking our lease. Ultimately, they decided that it wasn't their problem, and I was forced to move my wife out of state because she COULD NOT live in the apartment. You'll see in the last picture, about 40% of the particulate matter in the air of our apartment was mold.

Oh, and to cap it all off, I got charged a $68 cleaning fee after moving out in addition to the state-required carpet cleaning fee. My advice: never rent from these people. EVER. You'll have no legal recourse to recover any damages they are clearly responsible for, despite the fact that they lack any compunction to do the moral thing, let alone the humane thing.

The woman that answers the phone in the office is extremely unprofessional! After answering a question which she acted "put out" she then hung up on me - no good bye - thanks for calling- nothing. I thought for sure this was a mistake so I called back. I told her we must have been disconnected because it did not seem like the call was completed. She says, "Uh, Huh" I said well thank you have a good day - good bye and she says. Uh huh - "click" Hey, here's a tip! If you don't like your job - look for another one. Your job is customer service You are not doing them any favors - no wonder people are looking for a new place to live. Happy Friday!

The rent is cheap, the apartments are cheap, whatever. That's fine and great if that's what you're looking for.
There's one woman that works in the office that is really lovely.
The other one is the worst human being I've ever had to deal with in a professional situation on a regular basis. She treats young people (who knows probably everyone) like they're idiots. She acts like it's a chore to DO HER JOB and that you're inconveniencing HER when you call about needing your toilet fixed for the 4th time when they haven't done it yet. We're responsible leasers, we don't party, we don't tear stuff up, we keep things clean. No need to be rude.

I am currently a 23 year old college student living in a small town. I dont party and i have perfect renters history. I attempted to rent from Home Locators twice now and each time they have come back with some reason not to rent to me BEFORE i have even turned in an application. The first time i was trying to rent a 3 bedroom townhouse for 4 people and they tried to give us a story about some city ordinance that says in the case of singles and college students there can not be more tenants that rooms. Implying that if i was MARRIED to my partner there wouldn't have been an issue. Also, this "ordinance" doesnt exist.
The second time i was looking into renting a house. Apparently Home Locators allows the owners of their properties to discriminate against who ever they want. We were immediately shot down because the owner refuses to rent to college students. I cant be too upset over this because i know that college students can be disrespectful and destructive, but we arent all that way. Furthermore, if i was a 35 year old college student i bet there wouldnt have been a problem, but because i am younger i get lumped into the "i like to be loud and party" group. Apparently home locators thinks its okay to discriminate based on age.
Overall, i have wasted SO much time dealing with this company. A word of wisdom, if youre a college student dont even try Home Locators. They WILL find one reason or another to deny your application and then youve just wasted time and 30$ for an application fee.
