Holy Assumption of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church Kenai AK

The oldest Christian Church in Kenai, Alaska. This church was established by Bishop Innokentii Veniaminov who sent Igumen Nikolai Militov as early as 1845.
The main construction of this church is made of local spruce logs under red cedar shipboards painted white. This current structure was built in 1895.
The tallest tower section was added in 1900 to expand the church to accommodate a larger population of Kenai.
