I took my mother and my two sisters with their families and there is not one complaint amongst us all. The food was great, the waitress knew her food/beer, we had to wait about 20-30 min to order but we ordered appetizers which we shared and had conversations which brought the family closer together than I have seen in a few years. For the exact amount of time it takes to find a reason to complain it takes to find a reason to smile.........try it!

I ordered the 16 oz rib eye the steak was cooked perfect and was very good would have given another star but they were out of many items. The worst was the imitation A1 in the A1 bottle (good thing the steak was really tasty by itself)!

Tonight was our first visit to the Hillside Stables. We will definitely go back! The atmosphere is comfortable and charming. The staff was very friendly. The food was delicious! The German entrees were authentic, and there was a nice variety of side dishes to choose from. Two members of our party ordered soup and were surprised to discover that it was homemade. Absolutely delightful! The deep-fried mashed potatoes were unique, but rather bland. The french fries were crisp and tasty. We enjoyed delicious hot dinner rolls as well. The coffee was delicious and bottomless. We will definitely tell our friends about this place !

When you first walk up you are stoked because you see their miniature horses the reside on the side of the restaurant. Once you get inside you think, Oh this is a nice ma and pa place. However, we came in with a large group and even called ahead of time. It took over an hour to get are food and we weren't able to order just anything. Most things we ordered were not available forcing us to change our orders. Waiting was a bit grueling and the waiter was also not educated on the restaurants beers. I understand she may have been underage but all waiters should have some type of beverage education if she is serving. Also the waiter was not properly dressed for her job. I understand its a small town but the least you could do is wear proper clothing and have your hair tied neatly rather than in a messy bun that could lead your hair to fly into our food(s). I wouldn't go back because the prices were high and it took too long to get our food. Once we got our food it was a bit burnt underneath and very dry. A big disappointment.
