My name is William Hillinger and I started as an on call firefighter in 1968 at the Wrightwood Fire Department. This a book about my biography and history starting with the small Wrightwood Fire Department and how it evolved over the years and became part of the San Bernardino County Fire Department. It is more of a pictorial History of Wrightwood and most of the disasters that have been part of San Bernardino County Fire Department which covers most of the 20,105 square miles in the county. There are approximately 500 pictures and the book is 198 pages. The book covers over 45 years in time. The first 90 pages are about Wrightwood fire Department. The next 90 pages area about the San Bernardino County Fire Department and the last 20 pages are about my retirement years.
