In a case last year, another woman was awarded just over $1 million after a hernia mesh operation ended with a massive infection. The court concluded that doctors failed to care for her properly.
The lawsuit alleges a history of problems with the implant that has caused pain, graft rejection, graft migration, organ damage, infection, sepsis and death in patients.
To repair hernias, many patients opt for surgical mesh products. While they work well for most people, some patients have had to undergo subsequent surgeries after using one product in particular.

The U.S. District Court has issued its 11th Practice and Procedure Order on May 29th, which address the preservation and handling of hernia mesh and tissue samples that have been or will be surgically removed from any plaintiff with a case pending in the proceeding.
"Hernia mesh lawsuits filed on behalf of individuals who suffered serious injuries and complications allegedly caused by Atrium Medical Corp.’s C-Qur implants could begin heading to trial in February 2020."
