I have been a resident at Herald Towers for the past 2 years. The building has great amenities and is centrally located (subway right outside the building).
The building staff is friendly and the management team has been accessible / takes the time to meet with residents to discuss any issues. I am very happy with the experience and am planning on renewing my lease.
UPDATE: it’s now been 8 months and 9 follow ups

It has been 5 months since I moved out and I still haven’t got my security deposit back. No one in the management or leasing office has ever responded to my email until I left a comment on their Instagram account. I wonder if it’s going to take a year to get the security deposit check.
I started reaching out to the management office for an apartment switch two months ago because there is literally no sun light in my room. It is barely livable (can you believe the pic was taken at 11 in the morning?). They give you an option to switch but they never respond to you forever. I was given an email address of whoever was in charge. I emailed, no reply for weeks, emailed again, the same. I tried 4 times already, and every time I went to the office to meet him in person, they said he was not in the office and promised they will let that person know. Two months already and I got 0 email from him, it is like the person never exists. I’m so disappointed in the management and so depressing living in this room now.
Herald Towers is everything I could have dreamed it to be and more! Prime location in midtown, close to Times Square, MSG, Penn Station & Hudson Yards. I’ve lived here for almost a year and can’t wait to renew my lease! One of the best living experiences I’ve had and I am so thankful to have found it. The Leasing and Management offices are super helpful and answer any questions you might have. I never thought I’d be able to afford such a luxurious place however the leasing office worked with my me and my budget. The laundry room, gym, lounges and roof decks are beautifully designed and have such a high end feel to them. The views of the city from the lounge and roof decks are breath taking. I can’t recommend Herald Towers enough!!
- Been here for nearly 3 years
- If you're willing to overlook how management is, then you can stay here no problem
- The package room has designated hours and listed lunch breaks, but then when you go during listed hours, it says they're gone from 1-3pm.
- Renters don't get their security deposits back within two weeks. I have heard personal accounts of it taking two months and more, for one friend it took a full year.
- The laundry room has been under renovation for nearly 7 months now. The entire laundry room, where everyone came to do their laundry, closed down. I'm not sure why they couldn't close down just half of it at a time or provided other effective solutions. Management initially offered to subsidize laundry but then offered a drop off service in the building at a hiked price. The drop off service also consistently loses customer's items and mixes them up with other people's.
- Cockroaches in the apartments and sometimes mice.
- There's barely any ventilation in the bathrooms.
- Don't be wooed by the amenities, take EVERYTHING into consideration.
- The lounge area and rooftop are amazing
- A few of the doorman are friendly, some are rude and intentionally make things difficult
- The maintenance guys are wonderful and prompt
- There's occasionally brown water and no one is notified. It just happens because of all of the construction going on.
- You're choosing between natural light + great views + street noise rooms OR barely any natural light + facing inside + quiet rooms
- Also note: I would take the 5 star reviews with a grain of salt. Especially those that have no picture and just one review
