The highlight was seeing a great number of seeing White Pelicansmy son was fuming about having to go sightseeing and changed his mind when he saw these Pelicans

It's a great place for a beautiful drive. If it's hot, rainy, or buggy, one can keep the windows closed. But keep the windows open fo lovely bird song. We got lucky to be a day of rain, but between storms, so had dramatic skies. There are hiking trails for the adventurous, big rock hills for the kids to climb, and the road is tarred so nice and smooth for those with movement limitations. I would highly recommend this place as a way to spend a quiet time.
