It is a good shooting range, with three separate stations to shoot rifles and long guns. The only downside is that it tends to be policed rather heavily by the DNR.

A lot of land to hunt but have to put work and time into it for success

Had a good time duck hunting. A lot of birds were on the refuge with a few to be had over the public hunting area.

I actually only drive across the bridge, and occasionally stop to admire the scenery, like today with my many photos and videos. I love when there pelicans come!

Good trails, excellent views, amazing free shooting range! Check out the pelican migration in the late summer!

Archery and shotgun ranges are well kept. I was quiet surprised, defiantly will be returning soon.

Grew up near this range. Recently moved out to Illinois. Wow, eastern Iowans are Spoiled! There are NO truly public free ranges here, all private clubs/pay to play. With that come the INSANE rules, chamber flags, no "rapid fire" old fudd range officers, ONE ROUND AT A TIME etc etc.

Here you just show up, blast off a few mags, and go home. Only downside is 100 yard limit, but for casual shooting 100 is fine.

A nice sized range with plenty of space for many kinds of shooting practice and activities.
