Amazingly I was one of the girls at 15 that my parents sent me here. And TRUTHFULLLY, I must agree with review #1 TJ. The peanut butter and graham cracker for dinner with the frozen Salisbury patty made me runaway from there the same day my parents dropped me off! But I assure you that I have straightened out my life and 17 years later I am the proud parent of a son who has an athletic scholarship to college! To GOD be the glory and not HTM!! This place was a joke! Thanks mom and dad, for nothing!
This place is a fraud. The State of Alabama does not recognize this place as a school and no school, in any state recognizes any so called "education" offered there. HTM cannot provide an academic transcript because it is not a school. Girls never return to a high school when they leave because they have to get a GED. The "workbooks" are not a recognized source for transferable academic credit. My niece graduated from HTM and when she tried to enroll in public high school, the high school told her they did not recognize any "schooling" she received from HTM. She attended 9th and 10th grade at HTM but because the girls only complete workbooks, they do not receive any academic credit. HTM is not even a "home school" institution. HTM has no academic standing in the State of Alabama. If you doubt this, call the Department of Education in the State of Alabama. HTM provides no academic transcripts because there is no academic program. They are a fraud. The girls only eat ramen noodles and food that costs about $1 a day per girl. You should ask to tour the "reverend's" home! It's very elegant! The girls never receive hot meals, fruits or vegetables. The girls food is donated and no groceries are ever bought by HTM. Financial contributions are used by the "reverend" to pay for her home, furnishings, hair and nail's to be professionally done. Most girls that graduate from HTM are worse off than when they went in to HTM. Do not put your children in HTM!
