Food was delicious! Atmosphere very inviting and quaint. Service was wonderful! Thank you Ashley for your recommendations! Can't wait to go back!
Just had a wonderful lunch at Harvest Table. The mushroom soup was the best I've ever had! The dessert sampler was terrific. Hope to be back!
This place is a spectacular hidden gem. Great food with a focus on quality. Healthy options, awesome, friendly staff and a beautiful setup! I am in love with this place! I'd give more stars if I could!
I hadn't been here in awhile, but had brunch last Sunday with a friend and it was FABULOUS!! It might be better to get there earlier than later because when we got there at 1:00, they were already out of most of the entrees and several of the sides. But, for me, that turned out to be a good thing because I got the day's Benedict and it was FABULOUS!!! I wish this one was offered every week, but they change their Benedicts from week to week. Mine had very thick, delicious toasted organic bread, topped with shredded pulled pork cooked crispy, and topped with a kale slaw that was a bit tart and very tasty. All of this sat on a butternut squash gastrique. It was sweet and just perfect with the BBQ and slaw. I had my eggs poached and served on the side. I'll have to take my husband there next timewhich will be very soon!
Ate here for the first time last week, had heard good things about the place. Our waitress was very sweet and helpful, and my wife and I thought the food was fabulous. I had the chicken waffles and she had the kiesh (I can't spell it and my spell check can't find it) and it was all delicious. A nice atmosphere and a cool place right in the heart of quaint Meadowview, Virginia. We will be back.
Great tasting food. Like the decor and ambiance. Update: loved thier patio seating, had lunch under the shade of the grape Vines with cool summer breeze. Some places give you such a warm feeling and do remember it .
I had wanted to try this restaurant for quite a while and am so glad I got to experience it on my last trip to the area. The food was absolutely delicious; perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. I was there on a Sunday so it was the brunch menu from which I chose and, again, it was delicious. So glad to see local farmers and food artisans being supported as all ingredients and drinks are locally grown/produced.
Such an oasis just off of I-81 in Meadowview, Va. Delightful atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff, nice store, and, most of all, FABULOUS CUISINE! We will definitely return again and again. You will be happy with their wide selection of healthy treats. Lots of unusual and delicious veggies in addition to an array of meats and fish.
My wife and I drove 2.5 hours just to have lunch here. We were very disappointed. She ordered the salad with "seasonal vegetables" on a bed of greens, with the optional goat cheese. What she got was a small plate of lettuce with 2 slices of cucumber, 1 slice of radish, and about a tablespoon of grated carrot (to me, that doesn't qualify as "seasonal vegetables), with a sprinkle of goat cheese. She wanted to order bread, and was told I'll check the freeze; and she was served a microwaved dinner roll. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich on housemade bread. The chicken was good, but it was served on a stale and dry brioche roll. I doubt we would return.
Stopped for lunch after visiting Abington for a getaway. Great story and amazing local fresh food. Can't wait to come back for dinner one day soon.
of course, having read numerous books by this author and being total foodies, we had to check out this place since we just moved to VA. we drove a couple of hours to dine there as my husband took me there for my birthday and the place is very cute and the staff is very welcoming - we were very excited to eat there. i think that everyone there, including the store staff, wished me happy birthday. they also offered their dessert on the house as a birthday treat - very kind! and the three desserts that we tried (a sample platter) were great. the whole idea of how this place sources their items is great, and overall the food is creative and good. we had roasted strawberries with probably the most perfect bites of rhubarb i ever had (however, only about 3 or 4 and wish there were more). i had the trout and it was delicious, not overcooked, which often happens with fish. however, the attention to detail is lacking. a few examples, my husband ordered a burger, medium (so red in the middle at least) - it came very very well done. the toppings are interesting, like curry kraut, and were very good but it killed it with the very overcooked meat. we didn't return it because it would have just been thrown away and we didn't want to throw away the meat. my wine glass had the previous users lip gloss/chap stick marks on it. we set on the patio and the windex was out on neighboring tables, a bunch of chairs stacked in the corner with some metal bowls or containers stored under them like a storage space. the atmosphere and surroundings are a huge part of the dining experience and a restaurant of this clout should do better with these details. nothing was growing in the tasting garden, just looked dead and empty. it is the second half of May in southwestern VA, things should be there. or if they did not come up yet, make little labels of the seeds planted there like some gardeners do to mark the rows of seeds, or something similar. since the restaurant is in a small town, it has to be a destination, and i don't know that we would drive the two hours again to eat there. just a few suggestions that would enhance the dining experience and hopefully fill up the place a bit more as it was not busy on a saturday night. i really hope that they grow and thrive and continue to source their food locally!
Incredibly good food, great backstory, excellent service -- an example of what the "eat local" movement can do! I stumbled off the road for lunch in my unwashed hiking gear, was nevertheless welcomed and well fed. Live music on Wednesday evenings, even!
We happened on Harvest Table while traveling and had a wonderful dinner. We love their farm to table menu and the food was delicious. The atmosphere and wait staff were great. A must try.
