The service was good, but the food not worth the price
We used to be frequent visitors of Harry's. Admittedly, we haven't been there in a while and thought a nice night out was in order. Last night, we decided to treat ourselves to a nice steak dinner at Harry's. My husband and I were both disappointed with the experience.
It took nearly 15 minutes for our server to come to our table. She was quicker with the salad and drinks. We both ordered steak-- a Delmonico and a peppercorn strip. The steaks were cooked correctly, but that's about it. There was virtually no salt on either steak. My steak (peppercorn) looked like they had just dumped a bunch of whole peppercorns on top of the steak-- and they were burned. I also go the "roasted mushroom gravy" which is no better than stock brown gravy with some mushrooms thrown in not exactly mind-blowing. For $25-29 per person, the least they could do is put a little salt on the steakespecially since it's pretty hard to screw up a baked potato (which they didn't). We saw our waitress once during our meal and once when she dropped off the check it took her another 10 minutes to come back and pick up the check.
We were disappointed with the downhill slide that seems to be going on at Harry's, and we probably won't go back anytime soon at least not when we're planning on an expensive dinner.
Went for Thanksgiving.. had great food. Had the buffet that day. Menu looks awesome. Reasonably priced for the food you get. The food was delicious!😁
Delicious menu options! From steak, chicken, pork to seafood. Full bar, wine and many beers both on tap as well as bottled. Out service was awesome and we enjoyed the atmosphere. The early bird specials looked interesting to try but we were in after the hours available. Guess we'll be going back to try them!!
I stumbled upon Harrys a few years ago, and have added this into my "special night out" rotation. The food is always top-notch and service is usually great. The clam bake special, on Thursdays and Fridays at the end of summer, is second to none.
Everything was dry. No other way to put it. I overall the meal was decent considering the price..my steak wasn't tender! My son..it was his birthday.. his steak wasn't tender either.. overrated.m
there was no wait, & place is rustic but clean. meals came out without a long wait. food was ok. pricey for what it was. not the best, not the worst. service was excellent though. our server (crystal?) was fantastic, sweet, quick & attentive.
My family and I have always enjoyed Harry's Steakhouse because of its classic steakhouse feel and individuality, being that it's not a chain. It was converted from one of the old Brown Derby restaurants. The menu isn't extensive, but you could always count on good food and friendly service - that was until our most recent visit on 08/08/2017.
Our server was most unpleasant. She rushed us through the dining experience from the get-go. We had to tell her that we were ordering appetizers and then she immediately asked for our entree orders. To my surprise, everyone was ready except for their choice of sides which irritated the server. She never asked anyone if they wanted refills on any drinks throughout dinner. She asked us to hand her dishes multiple times and she acted overall like we were inconveniencing her the entire time. I looked for the manager or the hostess on the way out to complain, but they were nowhere to be found.
I was disappointed with my steak as well. I ordered a rib-eye steak cooked medium-rare. It was more like medium-well with absolutely no outside char for texture which makes for a mushy steak.
With so many choices these days, I don't think I'll go back to Harry's.
Good service, porterhouse steak was excellent. Portions were nice sizes. The atmosphere was pretty good. When we arrived it wasn't very crowded, plenty of room and a nice outside area to eat with a great long distance view of downtown Cleveland. We enjoyed our self long enough not to realize that the restaurant was closing.
Good place. Good rolls and desserts. Go for the specials prime rib on Monday fish fry Wednesday and Fridays certain parts of the yr they have clam bakes
First time here. Great experience. Love how they bring the salad out in a bowl. Entree was great. Will go back
I was introduced to this place last year. Usually the steaks are the bomb! Service has always been almost adequate. Last Saturday i took a date there, and this date was very important. I really talked up the steaks. I ordered the Delmonico, she ordered the Filet. Both top of the line, expensive meats. Both came out undercooked. Getting the server's attention took way too long. Both were sent back. Mine returned cooked to perfection. Hers hadn't even been placed back on the grill. Closer inspection revealed her steak, ordered medium-rare, was actually still raw, despite having been sent back once already! By the time our server got around to checking on us, i had eaten my steak, and the date was over. When brought to their attention, they seemed ready and prepared to offer a slice of cake in an attempt to make up for it, almost like this was a well rehearsed routine. We politely declined. They knocked a whole $5 off my bill. A detailed e-mail to them about this went unanswered. We were both very disappointed; me
, especially. I thought i had found my forever steakhouse! Back to Texas Roadhouse, i guess. Shame.
Best steakhouse around. I never understand the appeal of the over priced "other" steak restaurants. This one is affordable, the menu has other options if you don't like steak, and the staff is always friendly and quick. I can't remember a time when I've had bad service here. Did I mention the flavor? They have the BEST steaks. Prime rib is my go-to. I've also had their burgers and chicken dishes. Never a bad experience.
My husband and I have been going to Harry's Steakhouse for years now and have never been disappointed! Their food and service is exceptional! We have always recommended them to our family and friends. Their prices are also very reasonable.
