Decent parking. Roof has great views. Reasonable prices for parking. Inconvenient way to pay cash. Have to use machine outside auto.

Two issues:
1) People who can't drive in a garage. Don't got 2 mph looking for a spot. Just drive fast and get to the top
2)Why have an attendant at the exit when they don't actually attend to anything. The person trying to pay in front of us couldn't figure out the machine but the attendant just sat and watchedresponse / report this review -

We broke down and were towed there but we live out of state. We were happy with the repairs and he was very kind about us needing to pick it up when he was closed

Easy parking for a day out in Portsmouth. Also very inexpensive. Automated gates only take credit. You have to get out of your car to pay in cash.

Just wanted to share an amazing thing that happened at the Hanover Street Parking Garage. Last week, my daughter parked at the garage while she attended a 30 min doctors appointment. Unfortunately after her appointment, she couldn't find her parking ticket and was required to pay $30 (one day maximum) in order to leave the garage. She was quite upset about this but she managed to scrape up the $30 via a combination of cash and coins in the car. When I later heard the story, I called the garage and spoke with the Parking Manager, Mr. Mike Casad. He was pleasant during my "frank discussion" and suggested that I call the Portsmouth Parking Supervisor. Well, I never got a chance to. The next morning Mr. Casad called my cell phone and said that he walked through the garage that evening and found my daughter's lost ticket on the ground! He then asked me to come down so he could refund us the difference. Wow, when does that ever happen folks! Yes, Parking Manager Mike Casad had to enforce the town rules, but went out of his way that evening to help us out. I am pretty sure my daughter won't lose a parking ticket again anytime soon and I have to applaud Mr. Mike Casad for going way beyond the call of duty to help out a complete stranger. Thank you, Mike!

If you are visiting Portsmouth, this is a great garage. It is fairly priced and in a great location to park and walk around the city and not worry about your car. An added bonus, they have a restroom on site which is great when you have a family.

Even though the price went up slightly it is still the ultimate bargain ($1.25 per hour). The parking spaces are ample sized, the layout is simple to navigate.

Can be very tight to navigate through. Utilized by many of the people that work in downtown due to shortage of parking for customers. Please be courteous.

Usually good parking here, but tends to fill up fast on weekends or during events. Love that they finally accept credit and debit cards when exiting as I don't carry cash. That was always a hassel, but they remedied that.
Most people don't realize you can exit right from the left lane, but you can. Helps speed up the process when there's a line of cars. Also, can sneak in the side entrance when the front entrance is marked "full" and always find someone pulling out.response / report this review -

If you need a place to park in Portsmouth this is a great choice. Covered parking to keep the hot sun and cold snow off your car.
