This warranty came with our new home when we purchased it. We have been in the home 3 years now and keep extending the warranty due to having some older major appliances. We've had multiple repairs and issues and so far and it's covered everything except a garage door repair that involved the springs. Last winter, our furnace had a crack and CO2 leak and the warranty covered the furnace being replacedsaved us thousands of dollars! To me, that was worth it above anything. Requesting repairs is really simple, with a quick turnaround time and I've always had good customer service with HSA. They follow up to make sure the work was done properly also. We plan to keep this warranty as long as it remains affordable.

HSA has been a huge help to me over the last few months. Whenever I request service they immediately notify a service professional to schedule a time for repairs. HSA also follows-up after repairs have been completed to make sure I am satisfied. I am, without a doubt, satisfied with HSA and will continue to use them.

Every claim I had with them went well. Good contractors and speedy..except one.

They NEVER resolved my issue from a new dishwasher that I got. First vendor messed it up ,then the second brutally handled the new one, breaking small parts (end of upper tray guide, inside cover and a couple thing inside) Multiple HOURS on hold and many apologies later and zero follow up, I just am living with the gorilla glue and cracks inside the unit. Life is too short. So in 10 years all has been well - but when it goes wrong with them - you're screwed, they have horrid problem resolution and understaffed call centers. As such I still have them as mostly they have been stellar, also "the devil you know"

The dishwasher issue lasted from about Oct 2014 to May 2015 when I gave it up

When we bought our home 9 years ago we were not sure of the condition of the appliances we inherited from the previous owner. So we covered them all with HSA Home Warranty. I am pleased to say that most of them were fine but we have had a problem with a few and we were very happy we took out the HSA Home Warranty cover. Not only is it peace of mind but they have resolved our issues in a very friendly and professional manner. Occasionally you might get a person in to do repairs who is not up to their usual standard but in those cases HSA has sorted things out. I would recommend them to any purchaser of a new home.

The couple times I actually had to use my home warranty went well. I placed the repair request online and then within 24 hours I would hear from the company that was assigned to come out and fix what needed to be fixed. The work was always done well and within a reasonable time. Thank you for helping me!

Was recommended by my HSA homeowners insurance because my gas furnace was not working I called and set up an appointment they said I was the only one on Monday morning that had a furnace issue they would be there first thing in the morning. When calling the office the mailbox was full I called 11 times over the past three hours and finally got a hold of someone she then proceeded to tell me they were at a house and they forgot about mine. I was the next on the list to be done they did not show up until 7 o’clock at night.

I received a 12 month HSA Home Warranty with purchase of our new home. I have had to deal with the company twice now, when the furnace and water heater went out. Customer service calls are regularly 30-45+ minutes of hold time. They are a stereotypical insurance company - they will do everything possible to minimize or avoid payouts.

The service companies they use are specific contractors that HSA has agreements with. And you have no choice but to use the company they send. In my case, it's been someone located 30-45 miles away every time. And these are not the most reputable service companies. Once a service contractor is assigned, I would recommend looking them up online and reading reviews so you know what to expect when the technician shows up.

My recommendation. If a home warranty is included with a home you are considering purchasing, find out what warranty company the policy is with and research them ahead of time. I'm sure there are other & better companies out there. But better yet, just ask the seller to reduce the purchase price by the amount of the premium they are planning to pay.

I called to request service for plumbing on a Friday morning. The following Monday morning I tried to cancel my request for service, but was on hold for over 36 minutes. No one ever answered. When I called the first time, the automated voice said the wait time would be 10 minutes. After hanging up after 36 and a half minutes, when I called back the voice said the wait would be 30 minutes. That's absurd. That is no way to do business. Other businesses offer a call back so the customer doesn't have to wait on hold for a long time. No one has time to wait on hold for 30 minutes. But HSA does not offer that. When I went online to see if I could cancel my service request that way, I wasn't able to do that. You can schedule it online, but can't cancel it online. The status showed that the "contractor was unable to contact." That's a lie. No one tried to contact me. Now I will have to watch to see if they charge my credit card for a service visit I didn't get.
I'm wondering if the "representatives" they say are all busy are really just one representative. I wonder if they lost all of their employees, because to be fair, they have answered the phone in a more timely manner in the past.
But of course if you are calling to renew your contract someone answers the phone right away. They wouldn't make you wait on hold to renew your contract, or you would be smart enough not to renew it.

I admit that each time I've called I've waited on hold for well over a half hour, however, so far they have replaced my central air conditioning unit and a range with no hassle (other than the wait time). Everyone has been incredibly helpful. I would recommend this company to anyone purchasing a new property. They have saved me $2,670 and that is after the service fees.

Called to make a claim on my AC, they sent out a contractor, he comes back to tells HSA that there might be rust on a coil pan, there is water leaking all over my basement. BUT because of the "rust" that it must be an existing issue. I have had no issues in the last 5 months and once something happens they won't pay to fix itwhich was the entire point of home warranty thingThe total from the contractor (who by the way is guessing what the issue is & has a 1 star rating, because that's the kind of contracts HSA links up with) bid it out at $695-$1000 I have paid $525 already, I should have just saved my money and just paid $170 more to have a contractor fix the issue, Now i have to pay the $695 and the HSA BS. I would highly recommend looking at other reviews and making a better decision then I did before going to this "company"

    Cliff Notes-

    - HSA does not partner with reputable companies (at least in my area)

    - If your house is not brand new along with everything in it, odds are they will play the "we don't cover existing problems card" so in other words if you buy a old home they don't cover anything.

-Every time you call in you are looking at a 45-90 min call/wait, and not judging everyone here but 2 of the people i talked to had no idea what they were talking about

so overall rating would be a ZERO - there is no reason to work with this companybecause they wont work with you.

HSA has been our home warranty company since we moved in 6 years ago! The first year was a gift from our realtor and we have renewed every year. They are prompt and efficient when you need them and are always available to assist. We have had a few claims and they came through every time! I highly recommend having a home warranty and certainly recommend HSA!

I agree with most of users recent comments. I opened up a call with their AC vendor and called them twice. And they refused to take my request. And setup an appointment. Since past one hour I am trying to get to HSA customer rep. How can you have AC repair vendor setup an appointment after 24 BUSINESS HOURS. You can't survive in the heat if AC is not running. Ready to explore different warranty company. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

*** Finally cancelled home warranty with HSA. BE AWARE you will be charged administrative fees equal to your monthly payment when you cancel. Another rip off.

1 star is generous. ZERO stars is more accurate.

Got 30 minutes to an hour (consistently) to wait on hold in order to speak to a real person who could care less about your issue, this is the company for you.

Looking for a company who finds reasons to reject claims or, dangles promises to get you to sign a year long contract and then NOT provide service, this company is for you.

Looking for a company that chooses service providers that either don't call you, makes you wait weeks for for an appointment and then takes weeks to come complete the repair, this company for you.

Most recent example: I have a high-end refrigerator and both ice machines stoped working. I call for service and have to pay a $75 co-pay to have it looked at. The service company comes, writes it up and then I never hear back from anyone. I call HSA and they say, "You're contract does not cover the repair of the ice makers." I ask, "Well, it's part of the refrigerator. What exactly IS covered in the refrigerator," and they reply, "Go read your contract."

I'm out $75, lost an hour of my life on hold, and then get attitude and snarky comments. This company is unbelievable. Absolutely HORRID!

Would give zero stars if I could. Worst service I have ever encountered. Big waste of money. No urgency to anything including leaving you on hold for ever. Vendor has 72 business hours to contact you for repair scheduling. Really?? That is almost two weeks????? Completely useless.

I like HSA. Easy, quick, and reasonable. I love filing a need online in less than a minute. The workers they hire are always professional, call immediately to set up an appointment, and knowledgeable. Some say that HSA rips them off by not covering stuff. Just look at the list of things they will cover before you sign up. Its also very easy to see what is covered in your contract each time you want to request a repair, so you don't accidently file someone to come out for something you don't know will be covered or not.
