A visit to Greendance was one of the best outings I have ever had. I could not be more pleased with the atmosphere. food, and wine. It was a perfect visit, almost ruined by the lady at the cash register when I was leaving and buying three cases of wine. She was indifferent, arrogant, and rude, but I decided she was not ruining a perfect day. I kept smiling at her, moving bottles closer to her to help her with prices, putting bottles in boxes to help her, and just being as nice as I could. She eventually got the message to be nice to me since I was nice to her. Too bad it took her so long. I am sure many customers would not respond to her as I did, but the visit was so great, I wasn't leaving angry.

We just found this place will searching for another place. Honestly, I was not expecting much; but what the hell, we went. I was totally blown away by the place. It was packed with people! And a packed winery is a good thing for a first impession.
When you go to the tasting room, you get to try 6 for free. (And coming from coming back from Virginia that most places charged $ 10- 15 a person, was a happy change.) The wines were good, food was really good, and the place was nice and fun. I didn't have the bustle of a place that didn't have a clue what is going on. They have a mead that buts other place to shame. So I you like meads, go here.
We love viognier wine, and not allot of places have it in a bottle all by it self. Most places use it in blending. There is not on the top of our list but up there. Their Pinto Grigio and Gewürztraminer are our usual favorites at most places; and they don't lack in taste.
Only downside is, on the winter months, there is not allot of inside seating. They take out the center wine storage in the store and fill the place with tables. So they can seat around 30 people. Not bad for a place though.

Took my wife here for her 30th birthday.. Wine,food,ppl were great from the moment we arrived. We wish they would do a lil more for celebrations and accommodate smokers a little more. Other then that it was a perfect first time experience.

The wine and scenery is amazing. And most of the staff was amazing, except the first lady. She did not great us, was very miserable when giving us samples. Threatened we only have six samples. My friend and I were there to buy a case EACH. The second young lady was amazing, she was 22 and treated us great.
After tasting we went to pick out our 12 each and the short haired lady at the register was not very nice and was miserable and kept giving us dirty looks, which kind of ruined our experience especially since we spent over $300. I really love the wine but that one lady ruined the experience so we bought our wine and left and did not explore. This was the second time with a very rude staff member in a row at this location, which is unfortunate because we love everything else about it.

Over the last 5 years Greendance was probably our favorite Sunday outing throughout the spring summer and early fall. However as with each of these wineries as they grow larger the signs and the rules take the fun away. Each Sunday we would pack a picnic basket of fresh fruit and crackers and nuts and buy a bottle (or two) of wines and have a Sunday afternoon picnic. On Sunday they chased us away not allowing picnic baskets. Sad very Sad. Not far away Stone villa (with its thousand signs) still allows picnic lunches. Im sure many people enjoy the freedom of buying snacks and drinking wine from a plastic glass and avoiding the fuss of packing a lunch and "real " wine glasses but many like us like to pack our picnic basket and load the convertible for a sunday outing.
We have visited wineries through-out New York, Ohio, California (Temecula, Napa, Sonoma), France, Italy (Tuscany ,Napoli and Pescara) almost ALL allow picnic lunches. Narcisi (Gibsonia, Pa) also allows picnic baskets in a portion of their pavilion (also a very nice restaurant)response / report this review -

We went to this winery to celebrate my aunts 60th birthday. The ONLY reason it's getting a star is for the delicious wine and landscape. From the moment I pulled in, the man in the parking lot was very rude and clearly miserable. Next, a blonde lady approached us and was the rudest person I've ever encountered. She was upset we brought snacks although the lady on the phone said we could because of food diets and allergies and the fact that their menu couldn't accommodate us. The blonde lady proceeded to tell us we shouldn't have came and acted like we weren't welcomed. We wanted to leave but we didn't want to ruin my aunts surprise.. It's a shame because we ended up spending a lot of money on wine, but I will never recommend this place to anyone. I'm not surprised that others have had this same experience.

It's a great place to spend time. Summers are great with an acoustic entertainment, great deserts, and great wine. Nice place to spend a sunny afternoon, or just stop in and buy some wine.
