Green Heart Awakening

Hi! My name is Melissa Powell. I am a yoga teacher (RYT-200), Reiki I practitioner, and herbalism student. This Facebook page is where I share my own teaching schedule as well as some of the wonderful teachings, trainings, and information offered by other yogis and yoginis, herbalists, and natural health practitioners in Upstate SC and beyond.

Green Heart Awakening refers to both the plants I study as budding herbalist and also the heart chakra whose associated color is often said to be green. The heart chakra is where our love, compassion, and joy come from. It is the source of our connection with other people, it is our healing center, and it is the place from which we understand our interconnectedness in the world. The word "awakening" references both the blooming and growth of plants and also the opening of the heart chakra – becoming open to love, connection, and community.

I hope the Green Heart Awakening Facebook page can be a place where love, connection, and community are paramount.
