  I was referred to Great Lakes Dental by a family member who has gone for years. Initially I went to have a filling filed down because it was sensitive to chew on. That experience was a great one. I recently went back for my routine cleaning and check up. My x-rays from that appointment revealed I had 12 cavities between my teeth. The suggested remedy for that would be to fill them all during two appointments or as much as I could handle during those appointments. While I was waiting for the first appointment, I sent my x-rays to my previous dentist that I had been going to for 7 years, but was now 5 hours away. He suggested not filling the teeth as they were virgin teeth and drilling into them would only cause them to weaken further. He suggested getting in with someone else local for a physical second opinion and perhaps trying prevident sensitive, emphasizing on flossing, and checking back in 6 months to a year. Hearing this, I called Great Lakes Dental and asked if the prevident would be an option they’d be willing to try. They said they would check with the doctor, but I would have to sign a form stating that I was going against their recommendation. I agreed. They called me back after speaking with the doctor and said “she refuses to prescribe you the prevident and maybe you can get it from one of the dentists you got a second opinion from.”
  
  I then asked around and found a local dentist that could fit me in for a check up. Their office called Great Lakes and requested my X-rays. After the x-rays were sent to the other dentist, I received a text from Great Lakes saying “We are sending your x-rays to their office and we have cancelled all further appointments with us.” To which I responded to them asking them to please cancel appointments for my husband and son as well. Their response “yep.” I could not believe the level of rudeness and how unprofessional Great Lakes Dental was in the handling of this process. If I am going to potentially have 12 teeth drilled into and have to pay for that insane cost, why would I not double check with a second opinion? When has getting a second opinion resulted in being fired as a patient?
  
  Whether or not to recommend Great Lakes Dental, I would say that their services are done well, but if you question anything about your own mouth or get a second opinion, be prepared for the backlash.

  I had such a great experience. The doctors, dental assistants and hygienists have continued to provide top notch care. Highly recommend Great Lakes Dental Associates!

  I had a great experience. I was greeted right away from friendly helpful staff. Sorry I dont remember all of your names but everyone who helped me was EXCELLENT 😊 I met with two new dentists and both were very compassionate and attentive. Thank you Great Lakes Dental for your excellent care. I love the office. So classy and beautiful.

  My husband just recently cracked one of his teeth and when we called to get him in last minute they were able to see him within 24hrs. My husband works for a sewer and water company out of town and Dr. O’Neil stayed late to do his root canal so he would not have to take off of work again. All of the staff are extremely helpful and make each dentist visit as painless as possible. I have been seeing Dr. Boyes for quite a few years and she does an amazing job as well. Highly recommend!
