I was attending a concert at the Tucker Civic Center. The hotel was easy walking distance. The room was beautiful with 4 poster beds. They had a free happy hour, serving beer and wine and a free continental breakfast with waffles. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed it very much, would stay there again.

I've stayed here for years but this will be the last time. Hotel is old but not what one would call charming. Today I had to run the shower/bathtub for 50 minutes in order to get warm water. When it did warm up, the tub was so full of water I could not step in the tub. 20 minutes later I had to start over. Next time I will be staying in a chain :(

Stayed here because the Aloft and another national chain were booked and so glad I did! The room is spacious and well- appointed, there is a nice little breakfast offering each day and an evening cocktail hour, the wifi is free, and the hotel is quiet overall. It is great for a business trip. I believe the price is lower because there aren't the standard amenities of an on-site restaurant or gym, but these can be found within walking distance and it's nice to not be paying for things I may not use. In room refrigerator makes it easy to grab snacks to eat on your own schedule. I'd stay here again easily.

The service was great, all staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The beds are very tall and I'm quite short which made for a minor middle of the night bathroom visit fiasco. I was on the 3rd floor and the stairs are not all together, so it's quite a journey from the ground floor to the top. If you're on the 3rd floor, you may do well to bring along a few hobbits, a wizard, a dwarf, and an elf to ensure your safe arrival. All in all, it was a pleasant stay and I would recommend this hotel.

My husband and I had a reservation with a late arrival time of 11:00 pm. They fail to disclose that there is no parking for this hotel. You use the valet at a cost of $12.00 a day, but they told us valet parking ends at 10:45 pm. We were directed to a parking garage 3 blocks away, down the street and around the corner. Walking deserted downtown streets that late at night was a little nerve racking. It was 76 degrees in our room when we entered. We checked to see if the AC was on cool and set it for 70 degrees. It was 78 degrees when we woke up. The unit ran all night but never cooled. The room was very small, no overhead light, fan or closet. Breakfast is not until 7 am. We will definitely never stay here again!!

Great location, history and feel. Staff was great, very helpful and kind. The room was a little on the small side and in dire need of updating however, comfortable. Maybe because we were on the bottom floor everyone's conversations could be heard that was walking to the entry. Not conducive to restful sleep. The staff may be aware and they go beyond with costumer service. I would stay again, just not on the ground floor.

Beautiful place to stay. Staff was great. There was a nice little breakfast area and food was fresh. The rooms were decorated to match the style of the hotel. Everything was old, which was the best part. My wife and I will definitely stay here again when we come to Talahassee.

The location is great and convenient, but the hotel itself was disappointing. Cleanliness wasn't up to par, nor the addminities in the rooms. Probably won't return.

This is an historic building, formerly a horse stable, that was repurposed into a quaint hotel, just around the corner from the State Capitol building. Very comfortable and centrally located around many restaurants and shops. We totally enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

Excellent staff - quirky hotel
The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us when the Wakulla lodge overbooked and sent us here. They stored our bikes in their office, gave us a bottle of wine and glasses when we had missed the happy hour.
Recommend valet (there is a charge) but parking is very difficult in this area so do the valet. Excellent location just steps from the capitol complex, but just beware that during Legislative session sometimes events close off some of the streets. Andrews a sports bar is across the street.
The con's - room 200 at the front of the building is noisy, from people outside and the free breakfast area - you won't go to bed early or sleep late in this room. With no coffee in room you will have to get up anyway! And when the coffee runs out just go right into the kitchen and help yourself. No hairdryer in room. Quirky bathroom with very tall jetted tub.
Bed was very comfy, but very tall. They do provide a step stool and you will need it. Had a tiny fridge in room. Large 2 room suite. Quirky light switches too. When trying to turn lights on I ended up turning off the alarm clock.
Good breakfast with make your own waffles, yogurt, oranges, muffins and bagels. Peanut butter and cream cheese available. Not much space to sit to eat so we took it back to our room.response / report this review -

Awesome location with terrible amenities. Room had wet carpet, poor housekeeping, dated or cheap fixtures, uncomfortable beds, old worn furniture (not antiques - old garbage), small rooms that need to be expanded into the hallway, and useless windows. Modernize please.
