There are almost 2.5 million homeless youth in the US, many who miss academic, athletic, and social opportunities because they lack appropriate footwear. They experience bullying and have low self-esteem. The Gotta Have Sole Foundation donates brand-new footwear to children in homeless shelters in order to open up opportunities for them. The organization also mobilizes young leaders to recognize the true face of homelessness and take action. With Gotta Have Sole clubs expanding across the country, young leaders are supporting their less-advantaged peers by donating new footwear and organizing engaging after-school programs in homeless shelters, thereby improving the dignity and confidence of homeless and disadvantaged children. Our goal is to work with young leaders and shelters in every state to help youth change the state of homelessness.
