  Beautiful Resort. Very nice accommodations and views. Nice that it a has a restaurant on the grounds with great food. Playground is perfect for kids.

  It's a great place, I take my client and we swim and exercise and play pool. The maintanece men are always so sweet and make sure we have every thing we need. The 2 down falls are it's not as clean as I would like and their are no attendants in case anything went wrong. But other than that we enjoy our time there.

  We have stayed here several times and will continue to from here on out whenever we stay in Stowe. We have tried other innes within the same price point and this place is by far the best. They have tea and cookie time. A game room with a pool table, air hokey, ping pong and some arcade games. A indoor and seasonal outdoor pool. A shuffle board area. A horseshoe area. A jungle gym and slide area with sand box for the kids. They have a lovely trail area to the side of the property. The rooms are always so clean! We enjoy the suites at the end with the Jacuzzi and fire place! Free WiFi too, and walking distances to many restaurants and the walking trail!

  Housekeeping was very hit it miss, out trash was never emptied during your visit nor was the empty box of tissues replenished. The housekeeper only came at all one day because we called to the front desk in the afternoon. When they did show up, it was only to make the bed, leaving the rest of the room untouched. All that being said, the rooms are fine if a bit dated, and the location can't be beat. It's just a tough pill to swallow for the price you pay when the basics aren't taken care of.

  We stayed at the Tall Timbers cabin. Very comfortable for four people. It has a fireplace and there is plenty of wood available. It was quiet and private. And the breakfasts at the Colonial Cafe are excellent.

  Clearly an older resort that's undergoing updates. Room was nicely updated, but bathroom was 70s-80s (although in acceptable shape). Didn't really use any of the "resort" parts, but it looked like there was a variety of services/amenities avaliable. Billing, check in, etc were all fine. For the reasonable price charged, I'd stay here again.

  We had an excellent stay here. The room was very clean and comfortable. We arrived late in the evening, and the staff was able to recommend us a place to go to find a late night meal. We had a great breakfast the next morning, and again the staff was very friendly and helpful. The resort itself was very nice and well laid out. Would absolutely return.

  Mountain bikers Heaven! Ride out your back door right into Cady Hill. Try the Florence trail, probably the best trail in Stowe. Rooms are great, attentive staff, highly recommended!

  We're frequent visitors here, it's a very relaxing place. Adjacent to a mountain with mildly challenging paths for hikers and mountain bikes. Also close to Stowe's paved bike path which crosses over ten foot bridges and past fields, through first and by inns and restaurants.
  
  Hotel provides bikes, but they could use a tune up. The chain would slip going up hills on the paved tourist path. I would not take these bikes on the mountain - they are not intended for that purpose and we were told as much.
  
  There are ponds stocked with fish (I believe) but fishing polls were always out for repair and not available throughout our stay
  
  Despite the above, is a nice place to stay and we will return. Throughout our stay, they were performing maintenance and renovations on the grounds. They are working hard and I think it will be even nicer next year.
  
  Tip: take the breakfast plan. The breakfasts at their dining hall are wonderful and the ingredients are from local farms.
  
  PS. The WiFi is excellent. Everyone in our party was streaming videos in the evenings without stutter. It is free to guests.

  A slice of Americana. Simple, unspoiled, comfortable. Short Hiking trails on property through densely wooded hills. Shuffle board, swingsets, sunbathing pool. Expect someone to burst out singing "Hearts and Hands" surrounding town charming and fun. Get to Blue Donkey on market day.

  We stayed at the Golden Eagle Resort for one night to attend an event in Stowe, and we are glad we chose Golden Eagle. The rooms, facilities, and grounds are all clean and well kept. The rooms are very modern, and the front desk staff couldn't be nicer. This is the only hotel I've stayed at that gave us a courtesy call after we checked in to assure everything was to our liking. We only stayed for one night, and didn't have the opportunity to use everything the resort has to offer, but if we are ever in Stowe again, we know where we want to stay! We thought the onsite cafe was a little pricey, but breakfast was delicious. One small complaint; the walls sounded a little thin, as we could clearly hear some of the other guests as if they were in the room with us. But overall, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend the Golden Eagle Resort!

  We went late April so the off season and they were doing renovations. Since it looked like they were just starting our room seemed dated but was clean and nice. Nice view of the pond and it had a towel warmer in the bathroom! That was awesome. Get the breakfast add on. It was delicious and worth it.

  Been here multiple times and love this place. Quaint resort, with reasonable rates. It is nice and quiet, with updated rooms. Wifi is available, ALL over the resort, with zero drop out. There is a cafe on premises that does breakfast until 1000 or 1030 with really good table to farm food. The location is great, being just outside Stowe, and well within walking distance. They also have an indoor pool, and fitness center. I Will definitely go back there in the future. Whenever I'm in Stowe I stay at the Golden eagle.

  We were part of a tour group that stayed here. The staff was so kind and eager to please. Our room was nice. It had been somewhat updated recenty. Bedding, drapes, and furniture seemed new. The bath and sink area will obviously be next. They were adequate but old. Some of our friends did not fare so well. They had rooms close to the cafe and did without hot water. When they complained they were told they were at the end of the line on the hot water system, and that this is to be expected in an older place. I do not agree. Hot water is very important to guests. If hot water can't be provided, those rooms should not be rented. The cafe provided a great breakfast. I hope Golden Eagle Resort gets their revitalization/updating completed soon. They will have all the makings of a great resort when they are through.

  AmaIng experience! Staff was super friendly. The resort was simply gorgeous especially this time if year. The pond was beautiful along with all of the nature trails. The rooms, while looked dated on the outside, were super clean and up to date on the inside. This place was more than worth the money and I would 100% stay here again.

  This is my second time here and I absolutely love it. It is quintessential VT. Most of the rooms are newly renovated, but they still have that VT feel to them. The proximity to Stowe village is also great, it's a short walk on a nice day, or a 2 minute drive on a cold day. Staff is very courteous and helpful, and room turnover is great. There is a small cafe open for breakfast in the morning with good farm to table food. There is WiFi EVERYWHERE here, and it's fast! I'm definitely coming back again, either later this year, or next. Great rooms for a decent price, and a very VT feel.
