Glen mills changed my life for the better, yes staff was sometimes hard on you, but with troubled kids with no respect for anyone but themselves, they have to break you to make you I thank all the staff who taught me to be independent, respectful, and taught me values in life that I wasnt taught anywhere else, I wasn't the worst kid in there but we all made mistakes that caused us to go there!, I'm 28 years old now and have never been a felon or have been in serious trouble with the law, I have a great life, good job, happy family, nice cars and toys and a beautiful wife, my life turned out pretty good so far and I thank Glen mills for putting me in the right direction as a young adult to help me become the great man I am today!!, The only people that change, are the people that want a change!!

If you experienced nothing but family and societal "dysfunction" during your adolescent years, this program would seem a total deprivation of your liberties; that's the point. Young people without guidance do as they please without regard for "their future" or that of others. The most humbling act is to see one's self as "broken" or in need of repair. Regardless of the location, when a young person realizes "they," not the system they are apart of, have within them the power to spark positive change the seed of self worth and growth is possible. None of us attend Glen Mills School due to our "positive" upstanding positions in our communities. You have dreams, that's ok. You have goals, that's good. But, if you have self worth, that's even greater. Remember, an abundance of help is available to young people up until about age 18. After that, you are considered an adult. Change what you can change for the better and seek the wisdom to know the difference of what you can't.

Changes young men's lives! Best school in the United States for kids with behavioral problems. If you don't use the hundreds of resources the school offers then you are most likely a lost cause and you don't care about your future!
One more thing the staff are unbelievable men. You have retired NFL football players to ex-navy seals and other armed forces. They don't beat you first off. It's called a manual assist or physical restraint!! They only do that if you don't follow their rules or if you give trouble. You are told this information before you even start at the school and your parents are informed of it in the first place. If you don't like having someone put your hands on you then stop being a criminal!

Look I screwed up while in here and yes they gave me sum strong discipline. But I agree with a few others that if not for this school at the age and point I was at at that age I wouldn't be who I am today. My boys mess up n I can convince a judge to send them there instead of a military school that's where they'll b going. I lived in the worst house on campus, we had the most money in the bank but that's cause we never spent it on anything. My unit was full of a bunch of Baba's kids that could never get right so when I was ready to go home I had to stay two extra months because our whole unit unless executive lost there bull status then we were froze for two months before being able to earn our ranks back. Still yet the best thing that ever happened to me and I hope one day I can become an even bigger supporter of Glen Mills Schools. Jan 21st 2004 thru May 5th 2005. Golf team was second place in the Del Val and our swim team took 1st that year.
