Hours say open until 8 p.m. Showed up for a to go order between 7:30-7:45 and was told they were closed, yet door was wide open and tables still had dirty plates etc like someone had just left. Will not be back.

first time staying in la jolla. ate at girards first night and came back 3 more times! was excellent farm to table choices, great bakery and outstanding service. don't miss this eatery if you are visiting la jolla.

Girard Gourmet is one of our all time favorites. Everything is made fresh in house. It works well for a lot of people because there are SO many options. It is deli style so you order at a counter. They make wonderful soups, sandwiches, baked goods, quiches, and lots of different salads and hot meals. The owners are truly a pleasure. This is great if you have a variety of eaters in your group.
