  Your education matters to me. Your safety and the way you work as you begin your new career as a microblading artist is in my hands when you choose to learn through Gemineye Academy and I take that seriously. I had the honor and pleasure of hosting the City of Sioux Falls Dept of Health as they observed a microblading session. I am working closely with them for all of your educational needs and they've asked for my insight when it comes to writing the new regulations that wil...l soon be coming into effect for our city. I can't tell you how much this day meant to me as an artist and educator. I promise to always bring you the best education, products, and practices that I possibly can.   Educational post:

  Flick, don't flick, or circles? There are a lot of different opinions out there about which technique is best for machine shading. Some educators say its best to use a flicking motion (as seen in this video I took during a client yesterday). Others say that it's best to never lift your needle out of the skin because it helps with consistency in pressure (true). Still other artists/educators teach that using a circular motion helps to get the brows super satu...rated quickly. Personally, I use all 3 in different scenarios. 95% of the time I use the flicking method because I see healed results looking light, airy, and "powdery," but there definitely needs to be a ton of practice work being done to make sure pressure is consistent with this method.   Flick, don't flick, or circles? When shading with a tattoo machine, there are lots of different opinions on what to do with the needle. Some educators say to use a flicking motion (like in this video), some say to never lift your needle out of the skin because it helps with consistency in pressure, and some say use a circular motion to fully saturate the brows. I've found that there are pros and cons to keep in mind with any technique, but for me, the flicki...ng motion helps to keep the shading very pixilated, which gives that light, airy, powdery look, but there definitely needs to be a lot of practice work behind the scenes to make sure your pressure stays consistent.
