The Friends of the Amherst Town Library are a group of volunteers who are interested in supporting, promoting and enhancing the excellence of this local library.
We accept and organize books and then staff three annual used book sales (Holiday, 4th of July and September)
We donate money for computers, books, tapes, CD's and DVD's to enrich the collection
We dream up programs, trips, music concerts and speakers all of which are open to the public
We decorate for the winter holidays
We organize and arrange for displays, professional and student art exhibits, concerts and special guests
We subsidize museum passes which include passes to the Boston Museum of Science, The Museum of Fine Arts, The Currier Gallery in Manchester and most recently added the Peabody Essex Museum in Essex, MA
We also try to fill the gap when "it would be nice but…the money isn't in the budget," or "the staff is already stretched too thin."
We depend completely on contributions which we raise primarily in two ways: annual memberships and the used book sales. Your contribution of $15 or more makes you a member of The Friends. We have over 100 members. Please join us!
