Peaceful, secluded beauty with sites for campers and tent sites
Great place to get away and be with Nature.
Spent the weekend here. Had an awesome time. Small secluded and very quiet! In the middle of nowhere Perry County. All the campsites are along the stream and very spacious. The bathrooms are clean and there are flush toilets but no showers, which I think is just fine. Lots of wildlife throughout the park with a lot of trails to hike. A great little state park for all ages.
Great place to camp during the week. Awesome mushrooming.
Nice remote state park in the Perry County hills
We stayed in one of the walk-in sites. The walk-in sites are spread out and roomy. There are no showers or flush toilets. The Flat Rick Trail is steep and challenging. Rattle Snake trail is overgrown and can be difficult to follow but it is less traveled and peaceful.
Great campground. Accommodates campers and tenters alike. No reservations available during rifle season, walk up only.
Nice place to camp with an RV. If you need supplies of any kind plan on heading into the great metropolis of Blain.
Good paths to hike
We camped here and absolutely loved it. This is the first time I've camped in years that everyone in the campground were there to enjoy nature. I saw no children on electronics or running around being bad, un heard of, i know. We set up a tent in an electric spot right underneath trees. Spots are along the creek. There are no showers which to me was a fine trade off to avoid the awful crowds that come on Memorial day weekend. Most of the tent spots are walk up, which honestly didn't look bad. The hiking in the campground is very nice and provides for easy walking. In Tuscarora, which surrounds Fowlers Hollow, the hikes are much more challenging, and should be done by experienced hikers only. I was told that there was good fishing in the creek, but try as we might, we didn't see any spot that would be deep or wide enough for fly or cast.
If you want a quiet, truly relaxing and rustic camping trip, this is the place to go!
There are also spots along the way into the park to set up a quiet picinic. Really peaceful place!
Loved going on picnics here as a child
