I've had mainly good experiences at Forsyth Tech. I've also had my share of mediocre professors as well, but I can say despite the ones who do lack great teaching skills, they are concerned for their students. Anytime you are doing poorly in the class, you will get a message from your professor. Not only that if you show them you are willing to learn and want to pass the class, they will help you find resources to do so. Forsyth is far better than their counter part Guilford Tech. Parking is also less of a problem too, as the main campus is on Silas Creek Pkwy. ( Urban Campus ) I have an issue with financial aid where I have to do an appeal ( what fun :/ ) Hopefully that will go well, but otherwise one of the better community colleges in the area.

I got my associates degree, but it was verry annoying. I had to retake classes becuse of a bad teacher or change in their ciriculum. They make up rules about what is and isnt allowed on campus (retaining to personal transport) they charge students 35$ to park there. And registration for classes is a b*tch.

I can go on all day, but there are a few good teachers there and they are what kept me sain. If i could redo it all i would not go back. As far as im concerned they owe me not the other way around.

I had a car accident in 2014 in Philadelphia and had to drop my classes from there because I couldn't walk and immediately called them because I was stuck in Philadelphia so I told them I would sign up next semester. Well I had to keep hitting my son's floor til I was able to walk on my own but I had a whole boot on when I fought to get back in school after being there almost 4yrs and was about to graduate with a couple more classes and while I was in school had been sick, hospitalized a few times and called the school and let them know walked out of the hospital few times cuz I didn't want to miss school and went to school on my meds just so I could do my assignments and all. I had never did an appeal or anything through them doing any of that time by God's grace I just was able to get to school. They just threw a paper at me and told me to do an appeal when I tried to talk to "RICKY HODGES" he didn't want to hear anything cept get my paper filled out/and or get my lawyers fax over proof I was in car accident how bout they did and no one seemed to find it. I am a 5x rape survivor, 29yr domestic survivor, drug&alcohol survivor, molestation survivor, 4 heart attacks, 3 strokes, disabled, walked on a cane 7yrs been off 13, need a wheelchair because of accident, had many operations and THROUGH GOD'S GRACE AND MERCY BECAME A "PASTOR" (April 2013) THROUGH THE MIDST OF IT ALL AND HOMELESS SINCE I GOT BACK TO WINSTON SALEM DEC 2014. I AM A FIGHTER AND THE STAFF IN ADMISSIONS IS GREAT TO ME AND THEY HAVE TRIED TO HELP BUT I WAS TOLD I COULDN'T EVEN GET A PERKINS LOAN (WHICH MOST OTHER SCHOOLS HAVE IT BUT FT DOESN'T TO HELP SOMEONE THAT'S HOMELESS FIGHTING TO GET THEIR EDUCATION NO ONE ELSE TALKED TO ME ABOUT ANYTHING CUZ NO ONE ELSE WANTED TO BE BOTHERED OR EITHER WASN'T THERE I BEEN FIGHTING SINCE DEC 2014 TO GET BACK AND I FINALLY HAD MY AUNT AND MAMA WHO BOTH ON LIMITED INCOME TO HELP ME WHICH THEY DIDN'T HAVE IT TO DO PAID FOR ME TO GO BECAUSE "I KEPT FIGHTING AND THEY KNOW I NEEDED THIS 1 CLASS TO GRADUATE WITH A CERTIFICATE TO GET BACK IN MY LAST COUPLE CLASSES TO GRADUATE WITH MY ASSOCIATES DEGREE BUT I'M THINKING ABOUT GRADUATING WITH THIS CERTIFICATE AND GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE BECAUSE THIS SCHOOL WILL STRESS YOU TO THE MAX !!!! SPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE SOMEONE THAT BREAKS THEIR NECK TO GET AN EDUCATION. "I HAVE A LOT OF MEDICAL PROBLEMS AND WHEN I TOLD RICKY HODGES AND OTHER STAFF THEY IMMEDIATELY SAID YOU DON'T LOOK LIKE NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU BECAUSE I ASKED FOR "DISABILITY SERVICES". OTHER SCHOOLS HAVE CONTACTED ME INCLUDING HIGH POINT WHERE I GRADUATED IN THE BIGGEST ADULT G.E.D. CLASS AT GTCC ON MAINE STREET. I'M LITERALLY THINKING ABOUT LEAVING FORSYTH TECH AFTER I GRADUATE THIS SUMMER CLASS BECAUSE I NEED SOMEONE THAT'S GOING TO HELP MY EDUCATION THAT HAS THEIR EARS OPEN AND BOTH SIDES TALKING INSTEAD OF ONE SODE TALKING AND LISTENING THE OTHER "DAYDREAMING" BUT AS PEOPLE I LOVE YOU ALL AND GOD BLESS

You go here for an education pretty simple really. Most of the professors I have had are great and care deeply about how your doing in your classes. You get lots of hands on practice right away, from day one your doing stuff as if you were in the field working. Great place totally changed my life.

Save your money! These people don't care ANYTHING about your education! They don't want to help answer any of your questions. They will just keep giving you the run around. I've been in on numerous occasions only to be told "there's a computer." Almost every time I call they either keep sending me to someone else or say they're "busy." I was just on the phone for thirty minutes getting sent back and forth about my reimbursement for dropping a class. After calling twice someone just picked up the phone and immediately hung up! Classy Forsyth Tech. Really?! Is this who you want to pay big bucks to for your "education"? Not me, I'll find a school who wants to earn my money through making sure I get what I go there for! Just plain sorry you guys are at Forsyth Tech 👎👎👎

Forsyth Tech is a wonderful Community College. This year is my third semester here and I love it. The instructors are very helpful and they love their job. When I graduated from high school Forsyth Tech was the very last college I had thought about attending. Now that I am here, the only thing I regret is not coming here straight out of high school. The instructors wants their students to succeed inside and outside of the classroom, and suffice to say they will do all they can to make sure you succeed. The networking here is amazing, I am a work-study student and the people are so kind and genuine. If someone would have told me the amazing experience I am experiencing before I came, I would have came. It saves a lot of money, for the student and their parents. I encourage any and everyone who is deciding, or those that are undecided to give Forsyth Tech a chance, and they will adhere all of your needs in being successful.
