I really enjoy coming to this pet store, even if it's just to look around. In fact, several years ago, I bought a bearded dragon from there that I still have now. I normally get all my lizard food and supplies from there, and really love the service I received. It would be really neat if the store actually had a small index card or something along the lines of that for specs on animals. (Like ball pythons, putting down how big they can get, what they eat, and things along that line of info. Basic stuff if you will. Just an idea for a simple improvement!) On another note, I hope to get into the pet trade soon to spread my love of all animals, and I think this store is something to model after. I'm super impressed!
I went to forest city pets at 430 and they close at 5. I went to the basement where the fish are and told the guy working down there that it would not take me long because i know they close at 5. The guy said he needed to be closing the tanks soon. I picked out some neon tetras and some bloodfin tetras as i was telling him i will put them in a 10 gallon tank to make sure they are healthy enough to put in my bigger tank. Guy freaked out and said youre not going to put them in a 10 gallon tank. He said it wasnt enough room for them. I explained that i was only doing that until i was sure they were healthy enough as some tanks had a few dead fish in them. He was so condescending the whole time i talked to him and acted as if he thought i did not know what i was talking about. Very poor customer service. He needs to learn a few manners in relating with people. I will not be buying anymore fish from there if im going to be ridiculed for it. Id rather spend money somewhere where ill be treated decently.
Both my friend and I find it exhausting they don't know animals past cats, dogs, and birds.
I wouldn't buy any pets. (From anywhere) that being said, they work with local adoption centers, have amazing deals on high quality foods, the sales associates are generally well informed and very helpful, they also have pets and feeders for sale. If you are interested in birds, they have a bunch of hand raised birds upstairs. Also some reptiles. Turtles are not for sale, but they keep them. Lots of great quality toys for cats and dogs, collars, leads, specialty diets. Hope this is hepful.
Helpful, and curtious service. Nice prices and a variety of selection, from pet needs to pet variety!A+quality, service, and knowledge, ty
I normally love coming here for all my pets needs, but the last two visits were horrible. When the manager walks away while talking with his customer and says he has bigger problems than yours that's just rude. The staff needs a lesson on customer service for sure.
Once this was a great pet store, but sadly it has fallen into decline. The main floor and upstairs are decently kept, but the basement area where the fish are kept is largely ignored, and there is even a sign saying that staff won't go down there unless you ask them. This used to be the best place to get fish in the area, but now the tanks have dead fish that have been left to rot in the tank for several days and it looks like they use vacation feeders instead of feeding the fish each day. If you want something with fur or feathers it is still a decent place to go, but if you want healthy fish you may as well drive an hour to Gastonia and get them at Petsmart.
Great place! The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Will definitely be shopping there again.
I have to say, I don't believe I will be shopping here anymore. After being treated with a bad attitude two days in a row and being told I couldn't hold an animal I was wanting to take home as a pet. It just ticks me off.
Today while I was there I watched the bald man who I believe owns the place pick a rat up by its tail and slam it into a sink extremely hard. Now, I understand that most of the rats that come through there are meant to be snake food. But that does not mean you have to treat it cruelt before it is taken and used for food. The bald man was also extremely rude. I was a paying customer and he was snappy with me and was mean. I will not be bringing my business back here for a while.
we love this pet store, they are always helpful and Chris is very kind and extends his knowledge whenever necessary.
Their staff is always very nice and helpful and their prices are very reasonable. The kitten food I buy there is much cheaper then any price on the internet. They help out the homeless pets too. They take in pets from the shelter and adopt them out. I adopted two of the nicest cats from them. Would someone like to adopt their brother and sister who are still there! They are great cats!
