Flip Flop Tours of Charleston was founded by Jay Hart, a Charleston native and licensed Tour Guide. Jay first became a licensed Tour Guide in 1989 and since has had a genuine love for the history of this great city he calls home.

There are many walking tour choices in Charleston with many different “Themes” to choose from and most lasting over One and a half hours. Our research found that many visitors to Charleston did not want to commit that much time walking around town but were still interested in the history of the city. Jay has developed a 40-50 min tour that will not cover ‘everything’; however it hits the highlights in a broad range of history of Charleston. It is said that the atmosphere that Jay creates is so relaxed and casual that you might as well be wearing your… “Flip Flops”.

As a local “been here”, Jay’s knowledge of the area is vast and he will gladly point you in the right direction if you wish learn more about the city than what the time of the tour allows.

In an effort to build a name for the business, Flip Flop Tours of Charleston has decided to offer FREE Walkikng Tours of the historic district. These tours will begin at the ‘Pineapple Fountain” in Charleston’s Waterfront Park and will last about an hour. The size of the group is limited to 20, so registrations are needed. Again, we are offering Free Walking Tours, however, Jay will graciously accept any gratuity you find deserving.
