I'd give them 5 stars if the front office wasn't so unwelcoming. I get its busy and probably overwhelming - you took the job. Either deal with it or leave .. Thankfully I only have one more child to go through there before I'm done with the attitudes up front. I've been pleasant with every interaction for years, only to be met with irrelevant intolerant smugness.

As for the school activities and Sports (wrestling, football and baseball) my kids have been involved in, 5 stars! The AICE program is awesome! The school spirit from the kids is fun to watch at sporting events. The friendships my children have developed are neat to watch . Overall I'm pleased with the school and faculty but those front offices ladies need some serious social skills training!

I never felt safe here. I could never go to the bathroom during classes because packs of bandits roam the school. They're extremely dangerous. Until Fleming Island takes care of the bandit problem I would not recommend this school to anyone.

Also there's not enough stray cats here

No matter how well you do in your classes if you can't pass the testing at the end of the year you're f***ed. Guidance is no help especially that Cunningham lady when you ask about dual classes. Freshman year had the worst teacher ms soud

Absolutely love how rude the front office always is when calling in. I understand it gets busy, but it takes absolutely no extra time to be polite to someone simply trying to sign their child out of classes.

Wish I had gotten the name of the woman who yelled at me to hold without giving me a second to say anything and then proceeded to hang up on me before I could finish speaking.

Though all my teachers were awesome, I feel like most of them only expected the bare minimum out of us which I believe negatively affected my math abilities going into college. I love the librarians there. They always encouraged me to reach my dreams and to not give up. I liked the Golden Quill club here a lot. I was disappointed that I didn't make it into the honors society here since I had high enough grades to be in it. It has never made sense to me why I wasn't accepted into that. I also liked the National Technical Hours Society there. I was the president of that club during the first year of that clubs existence. I also liked the secretary at the guidance office a lot. She was always looking for scholarships for me to apply for back when I went there. My childhood development teacher was pretty awesome. That was one of my favorite teachers. She is currently the career councilor there. She always encouraged me to reach my goals. Coach Hall was my other favorite teacher that I had back when I was a part of the business academy there. Coach Hall made sure I got the most out of the academy while there such as encouraging me to go to the county wide academy competition at the Clay County fair once a year. All of the students that I interacted with there were very nice to me. I wasn't a part of only one particular click. I took part in pretty much all of the clicks there. Even the jocks liked me a lot even though I didn't participate in any sports while I was in high school.

Currently,I am in my Sophomore year,one month away to my Junior year. I've spent two years in this school and I've seen how divided it is. All the sporty guys are in their groups, the plastics groups in theirs, gamers in theirs, anime fans in theirs, and the people that do drugs and skip school in their groups too. To sum it up, if you've watch any movie that's about High School with their rigid social groups, that's pretty much Fleming Island.

Really it's all about who you are and where you live. Some people love it and seemingly most of us just what to just skip to our senior year. If you have a lick of common sense,you'll see how incredibly stupid and ignorant these kids are. It's frustrating to reason with almost anyone there,so it's best to just endure their crap. It's all about stereotypes and who you know. Trust me when I say there is a lot favoritism here. It's tough getting into sports.

The teachers aren't all great. I think I've heard more bad than good about the teachers here. The front office is unwelcoming (don't bothering complaining,no one ever listens and they do nothing to improve), the nurses are stupid (almost fainted on the floor from a broken finger and the nurse was at her desk.She didn't seem to notice),the good majority of the kids are monumentally stupid, and if you're not in ACE classes or honors,you're not really taken seriously. Also, their hall lockers are smaller than their gym lockers. No logic in that. I can just get all my books and binders in there. All the bathrooms stink.

However,there is SOME good things about this school. If you have a class in ACE or honors,there's a good chance you have a pretty good teacher. The school is also new,so it's not falling apart or have any graffiti anywhere. It has a pretty fun atmosphere during school events and most people are friendly. Anyone who thinks their ghetto,really isn't and probably doesn't even take their selves seriously,so it's a safe school. I've had fun here and I think the nest two years will be enjoyed..to a degree.

Again it's all about who are and where you come from.

Prepare for the best freshman year, the worst sophomore year, and the greatest Junior and Senior year. You'll hate all the lower class kids, but you'll be a loser if you don't play sports. Go join football as we the best in the county. Them kids that call us the pharmacy, they just jealous Clay nerds. Yeah we got drugs, but no one is dumb enough to do it on school grounds. AND WE GOT THE BEST GIRLS IN FLORIDA!
