If entering behind a bookshelf isn't enough to strike your fancy, their cocktails will seal the deal. Don't be fooled by Firehouse Lounge's casual atmosphere - their drinks are high class. This is one of my favorite post-work haunts due to all of the above, plus their extended happy hour until 9pm on weekdays.

Went here for a drink before dinner and was not disappointed. Had a great Manhattan and the bartender was excellent. I would definitely recommend this speakeasy type bar. Great ambiance, great drinks, beer selection could be better but, but cocktails are on point

Just the coolest spot ever. Live music was insanely good. I might even say the DJ was better playing that old rap music. Cocktails are delicious. And what about that sneaky bookshelf door to get into the place. I mean it just keeps getting cooler from there. Your crowd is eclectic and that is part of its charm. This place is very Austin.

This place was so fun! I took my fiancé here for an after dinner cocktail and it did not disappoint. You enter through a bookshelf that you slide to the side, which is totally awesome and unique. This speakeasy style bar is a great place to grab a handcrafted cocktail and hang out with friends. The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is because of how hot it is in there. Other than that...great place to go!

The hostel was clean and the bunks incredibly comfortable! Everything was close to walk to, including the river. The speakeasy was super cool and chill for a couple of drinks!

On the downside, a few of the people staying at the hostel were incredibly rude, trudging in after bar hours and continuing to converse loudly! Even ear plugs (which were offered for free) couldn't drown them out 2 nights in a row....

I would consider staying here again, as the staff was nice and helpful, but I would probably spend a few extra dollars to stay in a private room on the third floor away from drunks and bar music.

Deeply terrible service. respectfully waited my turn at the bar, the bartenders were so unorganized and clueless, they did not keep track. Total amateur hour.

Cool atmosphere. Love the speakeasy vibe. That said, if you're going to come, come early. Long, slow wait for drinks when it gets crowded.

Really cool speakeasy, but be prepared to pay $10 per drink. They do offer a beer and shot for $8. Beer is a 16oz light beer and the shot is well. No complaints.

Nice cozy atmosphere, cool history, and nighty speakeasy feel. Cocktails were delicious and service was quick even on a busy night.

    Unfortunately, it has been discovered!
    But it is still great!
Quincey is iconic and so is his Absinthe and cognac "earthquake"
The check in hostess has an identical tween so you get 24 hours of gorgeousness!
Enter and you may get out!

Great place and extremely unique. This is a hidden gem in Austin and should definitely be visited by everyone who lives here. You'll definitely enjoy the experience of a cool place! The drinks are top notch and the bartenders are truly artists with the cocktails so don't miss out. The atmosphere caters to a more relaxed crowd than Dirty 6th and I would say mature students and experienced professionals mingle here. It's a very warm, welcoming environment and my favorite bar to go to any time I go downtown!
