The ambience of this place is just wonderful. It's very romantic. They have live piano music or even a live jazz ensemble from time to time.
Unfortunately the food is not always up to par. Usually, it is quite good, but for example, on my last visit, I was looking forward to a nice flank steak I ordered, but it turned out to be exceedingly tough.
It was disappointing, but I will give them another chance.
first time there after a very long hiatus. Excellent service and food!
Nice weekend breakfast place. Great andouille sausage and eggs. Good bread
Check to see when they have live music. It's a great place to stop in for a drink or for a full meal.
Prosecco on tap, live music, great food
I have come here for cocktails a few times and the experience has always been great. The atmosphere is wonderful (low-lighting, lots of wood). The live jazz music makes the experience really special.
Delicious. Attentive service. Excellent food. Fantastic value. The live music was great. Definitely returning. The bolognese was superb. Mussels were tasty.
After looking at the menu online, I really wanted to try the duck dish. It sounded awesome and was most of the reason I went there. But alas, the online menu is outdated and they no longer have that dish. I settled for veal piccata which was just so so and not as tender as I'd expect. The rapini was very bitter and not very warm. The chicken liver appetizer was great though. The piano man was very nice.
Cozy and off the beaten path, Fellini's is a tiny little restaurant with a relatively small staff, but it has a great deal of character and heart that make up for any efficiency deficiencies it may have. Its handful of tables are nestled into the nooks and crannies of what feels like an old living room and foyer. One of them is even tucked in below the staircase. There's also a bar with a few more two-person tables in another room. These aren't as comfy, but they're closer to the live music, of which Fellini's has plenty. Pretty much nightly, in fact, and sometimes twice a night.
The clam linguine is excellent, and its sauce doubles as a soup once you've finished the noodles. The pork short ribs have clearly been cooked right, falling apart with just the slightest nudge from your fork; no knives required! Although the main courses are excellent, the focaccia bread brought out beforehand is overly seasoned (presumably to disguise its otherwise bland taste). It's good for sopping up your main course's sauces, but ideally such breads are to be consumed before the entree. Aside from this minor complaint, however, Fellini's is a great find in Charlottesville's crowded restaurant market.
Great fried motz.great entrees. Great atmosphere
My food was obviously old and they just heated it up. It is so expensive for a pre made food and I ended up being food poisoned because of it.
NOT GOING THERE EVER AGAIN!
Good atmosphere and good food.
Wow! Was not expecting a first-rate Italian restaurant a block off the downtown pedestrian mall. But we picked it randomly and we are happy we did. Very good menu of traditional and modern Italian dishes, great service and a piano player! Our selections were very tasty. Please try this great little gem!
