Early meetings were held under a brush arbor. From there to a one room cabin, next to a wooden building which was torn down in 1937. The Negro School, where Lavonia Housing Authority is now, was used for worship until 1938. At that time a white man, Free Cleveland donated the land that we now occupy. When the building was partially completed, service was held there. Members and families worked together to finish the construction. Rev George Norris was the first Pastor. The Union Baptist Association was organized here November 8th, 1910.
