Fairmount Fire, Long Valley Fire, and Schooleys Mt. Fire were dispatched for a garbage compactor on fire this morning at 08:13. Fairmount Chief arrived along with the Washington Twp. Police to find a working kitchen fire. The Long Valley Rescue Squad was requested for a ambulance for firefighter rehab. The fire was quickly extinguished by firefighters and smoke was removed from the house with our positive preasure fans. All units cleared by 10:30.

Other ways that you can help.

Baskets. We need baskets for donations. If you have baskets, or know anyone who can donate baskets, please share this post.

You can drop baskets off any Tuesday night during our drills or feel free to leave by the front door. Thank you for all your support!

Last night members worked at the firehouse removing EVERYTHING from the bays in preparation for the ceiling and walls to be power washed today. An original American flag that has been in the firehouse for a very long time was taken down and put away. Notice only 48 stars. A true piece of Fairmount history.

The summer is flying by and September will be here before you know it. And so will our Tricky Tray.

Our Volunteer Firefighters and other Volunteers are working hard to get ready. Behind the scenes preparation is going on as well as talking to local businesses for donations. But it’s a big job and we could use all the help we can get. And it would be VERY APPRECIATED!

    How Can You Help?

    ...

Solicit from businesses and restaurants that you frequent. Many businesses are more likely to donate to a frequent customer than to a solicitation from off the street.

Please tell us if there is a business you can solicit from so that we do not also approach them. We'd also be happy to send you a link to a letter that you can use.

Donate a basket to be raffled or donate items to be placed into a basket. It can be one single item, a gift certificate (any amount), a donation from a business, or an item you solicited. It can be many items or just one item and we will make the basket.

Donate Cash. If shopping is not your thing, you can make a monetary donation, and we will do the shopping for you!
