WPMG-TV and WPMG-FM radio is owned and operated by the Pennsylvania Media Group LLC in Kittanning, Pa., and operates on WPMG.netWPMG-TV and WPMG-FM provides the state of Pennsylvania an unbiased, factual, and alternative news source for free. We feature an online website to gather your daily news content, in addition to a digital radio station that plays the latest country, rock, and pop mix. Occasional radio breaks for news updates happen regularly throughout the day.
WPMG was originally operated as the callsign for Castle Shannon, Pa. Police Department in Allegheny County. This occurred in 1948 when the FCC issued 4-letter callsigns to public safety. WPMG operated for the Castle Shannon Police Department on 39.38 MHz.
On May 28th, 1957 – the Paxton Media Group had first aired TV news as an NBC News Affiliate in Paducah, Kentucky. Channel 6 operated on VHF from 1957 to 2009. In 2009, the callsign was back and available.
In 2019, the Pennsylvania Media Group LLC and it’s president, Austin Ayers, revamped the WPMG callsign and launched WPMG-TV and WPMG-FM.
