It's a nice place, but our room had some issues, including but not limited to:
-The shower was not water-tight, so it leaked on the floor whenever you used it
-Some of the drawers were broken
-Many of the electronics had dead or dying batteries

It's right next to the beach and there's a pool (albeit the hot tub wasn't always hot). The elevator is also kind of slow. That was just my experience; yours may vary. All in all it was still an enjoyable stay.

Villamare is an AWESOME family-friendly complex, with a large outdoor pool and a separate children's pool, which most complexes do not offer. There is also a separate sun deck located away from the pool area sun deck for those who like to get away from the pool activities. Because of the oceanfront location, Villamare units are all just a 1-2 minute walk from the doorstep to claim a beautiful spot on the beach (Mapquest and Google Maps do not reflect the location well unless you enlarge the map to label the complex.) Bike rentals, golf, kayak rentals, and tennis are all just a short walk away. The Dunes Buggy will take you anywhere you like within all of Palmetto Dunes, free of charge. Villamare is very centrally located on the Island, so restaurants, shopping, and other activities are very convenient. Privately owned, each Villamare unit is maintained according to the individual owner's standards.
