The Front desk Staff, were very friendly, efficient and helpfull. The price was decent, the location was convenient the room was set up accordingly to it's name, i.e.: Full kitchen setup, if you were planning on staying for more than just overnight.
The bathroom was adequate, but little to no amenities, unless you call and ask for something. The kitchen had NO ACCESSORIES, i.e.: plates, cups, silverware or even pots & pans (yea, that's something I regularly take with me when going to visit). There were 3 very thin pillows, no blankets on the bed, just sheets & coverlet. Plenty of room to hang clothes or put in dresser. Even though it was a "non smoking" room, it was still stuffy.
Would I stay again - for the price yes.
The deception and lies from the district manager (Jerod) is beyond what I can imagine. I have been staying in this hotel with garbag, knats, roaches, and personnel drama. Since my arrival over a year, there have been drug use in hotel rooms, no internet for me for a year, as well no phone service, personnel issues that involve the guest . I paid my bill on time bi-weekly and when I was told I would be compensated for not having internet, a new manager came and did the right thing by upgrading my internet for a year, but because he was fired and Jerod (district manager) and corporate had an issue with this manager( I am assuming) they do not want to continue to obligate their agreement, which is noted on my account, so the new manager is going to charge me addition fees for internet upgrade, which Jerod told me he as going to obligate until October 2018. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. If anyone that wants to move to this area for longterm, please just pay the extra money somewhere else because they will deceive you and lie to you, with no remorese. Don't be decived by the smiles from this establishment. In addition, I will disclose more information to the local news media, including the publications on Pax River. Moreover, my room is always paid on time bi-weekly, so they cannot hold this over me. I only speaking my truth and informing all. When you see/endure something, say something, no matter what. I am saying, this person (district manager) is not about customer service and I want everyone who anticipate staying here to know.
My room wreaks of smoke even in a non smoking room, upon check in the amount detector was beeping due to a missing battery which the front desk directed me to fix, the room is barely clean. I will not be staying at this chain in the future!
One of the worst stays I have had there. Previous quest towels and hand wash rags left in the shower. Didn't have clean wash cloths in the bathroom. Asked for clean linens. Still don't have any even tho the desk girl said she would take care of it. Found a brown bug in the bathroom this morning. Won't be staying here again.
The room and staff were nice but breakfast was a bit lacking.
The staff were as sweet as could be but did not seem to have much in the way of training. The rooms smelled heavily of smoke and the first floor was very loud most of the night.
I stayed here from June 5th 2017 through August 4th 2017.
Pros:
a. Rooms are clean and have sufficient space and storage.
b. The Staff is pleasant, eager to help and very polite.
c. The laundry facilities all seem to work; no "dud" machines. The front desk always had rolls of quarters you could buy to do your laundry without worrying about the bank!
d. The price is very competitive.
e. The staff was very sweet to my cat.
f. The hotel has thick walls; most places like this do not have solid, relatively sound proof walls! The only time i heard other guests was a group that was in the room next door to mine. They were so loud, they could be heard from the front desk, and even then the noise was much quieter inside my room.
g. The windows have screens and they open! It was sooo so nice to enjoy a nice breeze and natural air during the day! My cat appreciated it too, he would sit in the windowsill every afternoon!
Cons:
a. There is an odor that I'm pretty sure is coming from the 1st floor shower drain system. There is no way for me to check, but I think there must not be a trap installed, so the smell is able to come back into the room. The smell mostly dissipated when I closed my drain everyday except when actively showering, and left the windows open to air out. This was pretty inconvenient and unpleasant.
b. The breakfast runs out. Even leaving for work as early as 6 am, there would be no coffee in the carafes sometimes. At 9 am? Not a chance!
c. My fridge broke and it took 3 weeks to have it replaced. I had about $50 of groceries go bad. When i reported the fridge the staff member said I would be reimbursed, but this never happened. I had maintenance requests marked "done" twice without the fridge being replaced and had to resubmit.
d. I was on the 1st floor facing the parking lot. The blackout curtains are VERY good, but the crack between them was on a perfect trajectory such that the bright sodium lights in the parking light shown right on the pillows where my eyes are at night. It woke me up several times.
e. I got very poor cellphone reception in my room. I had to go out into the parking lot to make any phone calls. I guess that's the price you pay for those nice, thick, soundproof walls.
A few suggestions for small improvements; as a single woman staying here, I would have appreciated a higher floor. I also had several instances where my keycard didn't work on the side and back door. Once again, this is a safety issue for a woman traveling alone. It would also be great to have sheer curtains with the black outs in the 1st floor rooms. That way I could open the windows and enjoy the breeze but still maintain some privacy from everyone walking through the lot. If you pick up a kit of kitchen things (plates and pots and pans etc) and you are missing them, just ask the front desk! They have spares, no need to suffer!!
Overall the quality of my stay was commensurate with the price. For places like these that are more about budget than luxury, its rare to find such exceedingly service-minded folks. I added a star to what my rating would have been purely thanks to the staff.
The front desk employee Dawn is so nice, such a sweet young lady she always has a smile on her face. She always helps a customer regardless of what it is. The rooms are nice each with its own kitchenette n they have breakfast n coffee down in the lobby.
Rooms are very well kept, and employees treat guests like friends. Great place to stay.
Good room service and has a complementary breakfast very quiet too
Staff was great, but the place didnt have a good smell and it was always something in the hallways like boxes or refrigerators. Staff lounge was always left open and completely messy
It's has poor management.the facility is not kept clean things are always broken washers , stove, refrigerator. The walls are very thin. It's a smoking facility and you can smell the smoke even on the non smoking floors.the beds are not comfortable. The grab and go breakfast is a joke no fruit like other facilities coffee is always out. Sometimes no linen.it's just crazy one of the worse extended stays I have ever stayed at and the most expensive as well.
