Worst school I ever been to, the classes I've had so far were ok but there's this weird teacher who has rats in her classroom. It's so weird that the principal hasn't called the exterminator. I was called to the principals office and when I got in there I seen condoms. She didn't even try to hide them. Later throughout the school year the lunch started getting worst. We had rice and beans and my beans were moving. I still don't why the janitor wears bikinis it makes his butt juicy though. Anyways GOOOOO TIGERS!

Oh Etowah, how you are so wonderful and terrible at the same time.

I will put it like this, for I have only one year here and already see the issues to Etowah. The discipline is absolute garbage (not to mention the delinquents that are the cause of this issue). The teachers try their best to bargain with the students to behave but in the end the children win because the teachers rarely do any discipline. Why? I am not completely sure but something tells me it is because of this whole oppression movement, which in its self needs to be aborted. That said, the teachers are very nice and can very much get along with the students and help then when asked (of course when the students ask for legit help, not when they make a stupid remark to get attention). There had been some bad staff, hence a robotics teacher but most of them have or will be replaced. The school itself is too big for a high school, but with it being so big also helps students prepare for the huge college campuses (of course if some of these buffoons actually go to college). But the building is very old and is always seen being repaired on. And , sated by numerous comments, the roach infestation. I can not go one day without seeing a abomination of nature on its back in this high school. Despicable. I would call the board of health myself to treat this unacceptable problem if it weren't for having access to communications with the board plus the fear of repercussions on I for shutting down the school to have the infestation terminated. If you are a parent reading this, interested to having your child or potential child attend this high school be warned this:There is a lot of harassment here and comes in all forms. This is not being oversensitive, because that would require a person reporting another for not liking what another's shirt has printed on it. These are some of the worse students I have encountered with, though I also blame the parents themselves and the attitude that is being brainwashed onto this generation. Numerous physical contacts and fights have occurred. Racist (to every race) and hateful remarks (serious remarks, not petty ones that a oversensitive being would cry to being told that their hair is messy).High tensions. Sexual moves on both genders (yes, only two genders. Get educated). Actual sexual contact. And for seeing this my first year at this high school? Unremarkable malarkey this is. That said, the education is pretty well done to those who want to learn and have a successful life. Thus review will be edited each year of attending here an hopefully issues will be solved.

Dear tori, I'm quite 100% positive this google reviewing post isn't a place to complain about supposivly sexual harassment. In fact that sounds like a personal problem

I graduates with the class of 2016 on Saturday, May 28, 2016. It is now Monday, May 30, 2016.
I am a small white girl, and was sexually harassed by a boy of a different race all four years i attended, and i only reported it about 4 times of the mulitple occasions it occures. The school didn't even give him ISS because I told him to "keep his crusty hands off me" and that they were afraid his parents would pull the race card, and that they only wanted him in trouble because he was a different race than I. He skated on by all four years of high school, to graduate in my class, and to walk at my graduation, and it terrified me to even be in a room with him. He has been given a privilege just because he is a minority, a sort of power, that everyone had to be sensitive about race. Well in that case, we are on our way back to segregation folks. The school needs to grow some and focus more of the atmosphere since it clearly has all the academic awards, we can spare a little time and make sure the students feel safe to speed walk to our class across the parking lot and that if we bump into anyone, we won't get beaten and then get in trouble for bumping into someone because we should watch where we are going.
Also, I am not interested in tons people romantically at the same time. This angered a girl of a diffraction who was well of three times my size. I was slammed into a wall during a pep rally my junior year, left with bruising and tripping and hurting my then best friends sprained ankle even more, slowing her recovery. My mother was never contacted about the situation until I told her in the middle of spring break when I took off my cover up and she saw a large handprint size bruise on my back. Thanks, officer moss. Bullying is only handled within race, if the subjects are of different race, they throw it under the books. And these are just two examples, and I've been hit and slapped mulitple times and sexually harassed by girls in locker rooms before as well.
As for the learning experience, I'd say, you definitely have to have a personal connectionwith a lot of the senior teachers to really be able to learn from them, but over all, it's a great place to learn from.
The food isn't too great, and leaves many kids who really only get school food hungry. It's honestly more shady than the meat and chicken from McDonald's, and I work there.
There is a lack of school functions as far as get togethers. There should be a more dance held in the gym for underclassmen, and rewards for upper class men so kids have more than just a senior lounge to look forward too. The senior lounge should have like a stereo or something to play music on so it's not just boring old lunch time, and more fun and relaxing for those senior struggling with stress from the senior project and so on and so forth.
The walk isn't too terrible, but it needs more coverings since the school crosses two parking lots in between to sections of the school. And more leniency on the late to class, if they come from across the other campus. There's also like 2 thousand kids trying to get to their next class at the same time, it's gonna have some traffic and it'll vary from day to day.
The cockroaches are absolutely ridiculous. There was on that landed on my friend and one that fell in her food. The crawl up walls, and fall from ceilings. Instead of buying a jumbotron FOR A HIGH SCHOOL FOOT BALL TEAM, we should invest in a better pest control company.
The lack of any focus on the arts kills any imagination. It's been getting better, but they get shorted money for academic courses' books that they never even use and things like that. Learning how to make things on paper or taking ceramics are life skills. It can teach you so much, and the teachers are full of so much wisdom and unbiased opinions. The programs are so IMPORTANT yet the school system lacks to support it.
I don't know, that's just coming from a student who attended more than most students did all four years here. I hope it gets better, otherwise I'll home school my child.

I am a senior at Etowah and have met the nicest teachers ever here. The major problem about this school though is the cockroaches, broken toilets, and the campus is huge. The ramp they have for wheelchairs is uncovered and is exposed to the elements so if its raining out and your in a wheel chair you have to try to get up that steep ramp just to get to your next class. They need to cover it as they do for all the other walk ways around the school. They need to do something about all the cockroaches they have around the school it is gross and not good for our health. The senior lounge is infested with them, last year and this year there was a cockroach in a girls food. Food she got from the cafeteria, I do not understand why no one has called the board of health on the school yet! Half of the toilets in the girls bathrooms have broken toilet seats causing us to slide when we try to use the bathroom. Also I find it ridiculous that the faculty still pick and chose who they flag on the dress code. I walk around the school and see girls wearing these tiny shorts that expose half of their butt yet they do not get flagged for it, but when they do flag someone they are wearing dress code approved clothing. Also they do not call out the guys who are always sagging their pants! We cant show our shoulders in school so they shouldn't be allowed to show their butts all over the school. The school has some good teachers but a lot of them just hand you a paper and tell you to do it without explaining what you are supposed to do.

Cafeteria food could be better. I know it's not the lunch ladies' faults. They're all wonderful and I talk to them every day. I know they know how to cook. School just doesn't supply them with good ingredients. Wouldn't call it a cockroach infestation, but I see at least 3 a day. Janitors sort of just kick them under the vending machines Most teachers are great. Overall three out of five stars. Pretty okay school, just leaves me hungry and a little grossed out most days.
