I had Ellicott City Movers help me move apartments. On the day of the move we got a little behind in packing. Rick and Dennis, the people who moved us, were very understanding and willing to work with us. When they arrived they went right to work. They were very careful with our items and they finished the move in half the time. I would highly recommend this company because they were prompt, professional and reasonably priced.

I have to say, best moving service I had in 25 years. The gentleman I spoke with was very professional and polite, did not have a problem finding my place. They wrapped up and packaged all of my belongings and furniture and took extreme care when moving up and down the stairs from scratching the walls. Inexpensive pricing compared to the work they had done for me. I don't normally write a review but experience was exceptional I had to give a shout out, great job boys definitely will recommend my family, friends and even colleagues.

My move was surely excellent from the beginning to the end. The movers demonstrated exceptional skills in moving and packing my stuff. I must commend their attitude to work and diligence. I had a great move experience with them and that is why I will hire them again for my future moves. We had a lot of heavy stuff to move and our move was across a long distance. This was why we did not even see it as an option to hire an inexperienced moving company. We scoured the internet in search for an experienced moving company and luckily we came across Ellicott City Moving & Storage. These movers did excellent job and moved our stuff in timely and perfect manner. We are pleasantly surprised with the way they handled the job and we will hire them again.

I honestly can't give enough praise about our recent experience with Ellicott City Movers. Professional, quick, courteous, careful and punctual - what more could you want? We had a few last minute glitches, on our part, which caused some delays but Jeff, supervisor, took it in stride and never seemed flustered. Jeff is a perfectionist and he expects the same out of his team. Seriously, these guys won't even let you move a simple box and they take pride in leaving the condition of your house exactly as it was before they arrived. Nothing but great things to say about Ellicott City Movers as well as Jeff and his team.

Do not use them. They do not know what they are doing. They hire amateurs who are strong enough to lift a ton of boxes and heavy things, but do not know the appropriate procedures/tactics for moving furniture. They don't even carry supplies in the truck to secure drawers, protect corners, etc. THEY WILL DAMAGE YOUR THINGS! They damaged our dresser and knocked it over (face first) on our driveway. The owner's daughter - Christy - will lie and say whatever you want to hear until it is time to pay. She is a puppet for her daddy Danius who is right next to her but "on vacation" when you ask to speak to him.

Further, when they damage your things and you inquire about resolving the situation, they will deny responsibility and question if it happened (even when their driver admits he did it). Then they will extort money out of you by threatening to leave with your stuff unless you pay in full. Yes, once your stuff is on their truck - you will not get it back until you pay in full. And you need to be on the movers butts because they will drag their feet and take forever.

Travel Fee: Let's talk travel fee. I called and inquired and Sergei (who cares if I am spelling right) said, "yes, I noted your account no travel fee" then proceeded to confirm the wrong time for the move. Then on the day of the move they included a travel fee on the contract. I called someone before signing. They said the travel fee is include as an hour with the 3 hour minimum. When it was time for the extortion so we could get our stuff off the truck, the person doing the bill stated the total includes the hours of labor plus the travel fee Ummm This was approximately the 6th lie of the day by this time. In other words, they will screw you with the travel fee.

When I asked the movers about these events, they admitted that these same issues occur every time. He called this in his words "deja vous"

I could go on, but won't. You get the idea. To summarize: 1) they suck , 2) don't care, 3) enjoy lying, 4) will definitely damage your stuff and 4) say what amounts to "so what - pay me or we take your stuff"

Would not recommend them at all.
Movers are not trained at all. Scratches on the wooden floor for which I had to pay later to the landlord .
They don't disclose that they will charge a travel fee and once the truck is loaded they ask you to pay the travel fee which you have to cause your stuff is on their truck.
If you have problems they don't receive your call.
Also they ask for cash and say their credit card machine is broken.

Do NOT use this company. They charged me twice what they quoted and added on an extra travel fee that was not explained at the beginning. Broke a handle on my wardrobe and spilled something wet and brown on my mattress. They also left a bunch of my belongings at the old apartment so now I must go back and get those things. Sent me two young kids, both were late but one was extra late and I still got charged for the time he was missing.

The worst moving company ever. They were unprofessional the movers did not have tools I specifically asked if a TV could be removed from the wall was told yes but the workers told me they couldn't do it that thier boss says alot of things they do that they don't. Then tried to take the TV down using tools I had from ikea and a butter knife they ripped out half the brackets of the TV leaving big holes. Then because they didn't have tools because they were left at the last job they tried to force the couch thru the door several times at the new apartment when the legs were supposed to be removed we had to borrow a wrench from a neighbor because they did not want to go and get the tools they left stating it would be on my time. The mattress got dirty because it wasn't wrapped. They tried to add on extra fees that were not discussed over the phone. I called and spoke with an office manager to complain she said my complaint would be forwarded to the main office and I would be contacted within 5 business days I recieved nothing. BE AWARE Do not use this company they are rip off scammers

The movers were very courteous and friendly, and worked extremely quickly. They even moved my bookcases, which I originally had planned to move myself. They took at least 3-4 hours off my move by doing that! I would definitely recommend them to the friends.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I attempted to book a local move with this company, the first problem: they give your moving contract to a partner company called American Moving Service. If you google or yelp American Moving Service Ellicott City, MD you will see your first warning sign: only a 1.5 star rating with several reviews written about how awful American Moving is. Ellicott City movers did not in any way inform me that my moving contract would be given to a partner company so I was confused when American Moving Service called me to verify my scheduled move.

So the day of the move comes and I call the company to pay for my move over the phone which Ellicott City Movers stated I would be able to do. American Moving Service refused payment over the phone and continued to come up with lies as to why they could not take my card over the phone. I then asked American Moving Service to confirm the cost that was quoted to me by Ellicott City Movers and now suddenly it was several hundred dollars more than my quote originally was. The explanation? it was for "fees" and 'travel" which by the way I was never told about.

I asked to speak with a manager which they said none were available. I then asked for an alternative contact number to reach a manager and I was given a number that did even connect to a voicemail. The more I tried to discuss my issue regarding the cost of the move with American Moving Service the ruder the secretary became.

Ultimately I cancelled the move and found an alternative company to use but my advice is this: DO NOT use this company or American Moving Services, they have been reported to the BBB several times with complaints similar to mine.

Absolutely horrible customer service. I had called this company to help me with a move now I haven't hired a moving company before and I told the man on the phone that I don't know the whole process , he said it's a minimum of 3 hrs and I told him I didn't think it would take that long and he got an attitude and spoke to me like I was stupid n should know a 2 bedroom move would take that long , but as I told him before I've never done this before and before I could respond after his rude comment he just hung up on me . If you are new to moving or are unknowing don't use them they are not helpful or considerate. I'm disappointed.
