I had an amazing experience. I went in for crochet braids/locs. I had the pleasure of meeting IJ. She was very nice. Quick but also took her time to make sure that my hair came out perfect. I would recommend 100%
I came in for a very simple 2 layer braids. Feedin braids at the top, knotless individuals at the back. She charged me $200 for the style , i specifically showed her a picture of the simple design i wanted and she became lazy after the 2nd braid and did it her way instead. The hair used was VERY CHEAP QUALITY HAIR then turned around & charged me $10 for it at the end after she noticed i tipped the 2nd girl (assistant/ learner) $20. They have 2 “assistance” there with hardly any experience, she was sitting texting on her phone they entire time, had no regard for the customer’s time nor service . Seems like she used my head for practice because not even 3 days passed and the braids were already sliding off my head. Today makes a week and my braid looks 2 months old. I tie my hair down at night and hardly touch my hair. NEVER AGAIN.
They use deceptive practices and false advertising. The picture used for their "starting price" is not what you will get. I am African.I know what braids are supposed to cost. Unfortunately, I was taken advantage of and charged $70 over the price advertised online after the service started. for large jumbo twists that took twice the amount of time they should have. I was told the online price is "kids" pricechildren braids are around $60-85, not $150 and up. I will not be back, I am not here to argue, but to warn others.
The business owner should see that what is advertised is a different story when people enter your shop and return business is sure to reflect that. Please do honest business so you won't have to keep defending your business online.
Do note that the USA has several ways to protect from things like this..advertising deception is against consumer law and anyone can easily file a complaint to Texas consumer complaint division and have your business fined. I won't be the one to do that , but one day you might decieve the wrong person.
I'm very disappointed after visiting Elite Braids & Natural Hair! See the attached photos. I called and made an appointment last week. During my call I specifically said that I wanted small, mid back spring twists. I was quoted $250. A few days later I went into the shop and asked them which type of hair I needed. They showed me the label and afterwards I went and purchased the hair trusting that they had directed me to the right product.
I show up for my appointment, confirmed that I was getting Spring twists, and showed them a photo of what I wanted. After my hair is a quarter of the way done I notice that it’s looking a little sparse and not the texture I was expecting. So I ask the stylists again to confirm that it was going to be full. One then goes on and on about how this is their job and that it’s going to be exactly like I wanted it. While the other proceeds to ask to see the photo again and then says that if I want the parts that small it will cost an extra $100 (even though I called and asked beforehand).
I should have just left then and there, but I have a girls trip in 2 days and I wouldn’t be able to book another appointment in time. Looking at the final product, I'm embarrassed. It looks like I have dreadlocks instead of spring twists. I'm not happy with the way my hair turned out. It looks nothing like what i asked for! I literally cried the whole drive home. I will not be returning here.
This company is very unprofessional. I have given them several chances to get it right and they disappoint me every time. I booked an appointment a week in advance for a braided updo ponytail. They called and confirmed my appointment the night before. On the day of, I arrived at my appointment time and no one was at the shop. I called and they assured me someone was on the way. I waited another 30 minutes only to be told that the person who could do the style would not be in that day. I said I was done with them at that point, but my daughter needed her hair braided so at the last minute, I booked an appointment with them again. I made the appointment on Wednesday 2/9/22 for Friday 2/11/22 at 4 pm. On the day of, the shop called me at 3:30 asking if I could go to the Westchase location because they were busy and would not be done by 4pm. I asked if the other location would be able to do the style (stitch cornrows with heart designs on each side) and they said yes. I even called the other location to make sure and they said yes. We arrived and showed them the picture of the style and they told us they couldn't do it. I was so upset, I drove over 30 minutes to hear no. Luckily, I found a shop that was in the same strip that could fit us in and did a wonderful job on my daughter's hair. Today was the last straw and I will never spend a penny with them again. They are unorganized, unprofessional, and don't care about their customers. My advice would be to avoid this place.
