They called to check on my cat, Alice, today, and it reminded me that I had not yet left a review. Alice decided to be sick with I what I believed might be a UTI on Sunday when my usual vet was closed. I took her to East Metro Emergency Clinic and they took us right in. Dr. Capeheart and her staff were amazing. Very thorough, patient and kind people who really seemed to care. While I was there, a woman brought in a dog she found and they scanned it for a microchip right away. There is also a sweet house cat that keeps you company while you wait. Dr. Capeheart informed me about the diagnostics they wanted to perform and what the cost would be upfront. Yes, it was expensive but not totally worth Alice not suffering. And to be perfectly honest, I don't feel it was that much more expensive than my vet would have charged. Regardless, I am incredibly grateful East Metro was there for us. Thanks EM!!
Please don't take your Animal this place. These people stole my Dog and her unborn puppy because I didn't have $2,500 for a C-Section. They told me they the puppies were dead and they could try to save me Dog, only if I signed my Dog over to them since I didn't have the $2,500. The puppy wasn't even mine. It belongs to my 82yr old Mother.
I took my Bichon there on 8/5/17 for emergency care. The staff was nice and seemed concerned. They told me that they could do blood tests which I consented to. This was expensive but other detailed testing such as x-rays would have been more. Afterwards they told me that my pet was anemic, had an autoimmune disease and wasn't out of the woods. They prescribed steroids for him and I took him home. I thought that this was to help build his blood levels up. I am tempted to give them 1 star because my pet died on 8/9/17. I believe that the staff knew that my pet was dying and didn't tell me. His death was a total shock to my family. We thought that the steroids were going to help put him back on the road to recovery. My review comes from the disappointment of the doctor not telling me that my pet was in transition. I feel that doctors know and he should have told me so that we could have prepared ourselves and our beloved pet to help him transition as comfortably as possible.
DOG died 3 hours from leaving hospital, they are not equipped and just will take your money instead of saying we don't have the experience, or saying here is another place you can go instead they run all these test having you pay all this money and don't give good information on your pet!!! Drive to Animal Hospitals in Decatur 24 hours this place is deplorable for emergencies!!! Then they charged 400.00 and wanted to keep charging , stating they didn't know what was wrong. I wish it was a 0 rating..
Took my Precious Boy King here for having (As they stated)Having a heat stroke!I really believe that they brought his temperature down to quickly which cause him to DIE.I was told to leave and go up front to do paperwork for payment.Dont know what happened when i left my dog eye sight hmmm? But i know I WILL NEVER EVER TAKE ANOTHER PET HERE!!!And i also believes their cries are FAKE great ACTORS.I think if they're not Spayed or neutered they don't try to save our precious Pets.
We had to use them for our dog the other night. They were very professional, nice, and patient with us. They did all they could for our dog and were very caring. The vet called tonight to check on our dog. I thought that showed they care.
VERY RUDE! My dog ate some medication and all they could do was tell me they couldn't help and to call poison control. To call poison control about an animal is $65, plus whatever needs to be done to save my dogs life. Very terrible service, will never come here agian.
I had an emergancy, after talking with my vet on a sunday two years ago he suggested that i bring her to East Metro.
I did not know where they were at, I tried to call then, got ahold of the nurse at east metro, asked where they were at and all they told me was across from kmart. I ran down that way, and there was a clinic across from kmart that was closed.
I came home again thus calling them because my cell phone died perminantly. I kept asking them where they were, each time they said across from kmart, it took me an hour and a half to finally find them, i lost precious time getting help for my 9 month old shephard who had gotten into my medication on the table.
Once there we had to take care of financing thus wasting more time before they could treat Nakita. Ugggh money was more important than the life of my baby. 😞
Finally once financing was available they were able to work with her and called poison control, needless to say, I had no choice at this time but to put her to sleep, which broke my heart and I cried for three days unable to function . sniff, I miss my little sweet cake.
All because they could not tell me that they were in the old shopping center were the old social security office was.
Nicky as been gone now two years and i still cry and well up with tears. She was a special pup.
Did not do enough to stabilize my baby. We had the payment option approval but guess it wasn't enough for them to help him. In his condition they should have made what he needed the most. Hopefully they at least gave him the drug they said they would to ease the pain he had to be in. We left feeling the money was the primary focus and the humane efforts last. I'm so crushed my baby passed there 5 minutes after the family who loved him left to come back and get him in the morning. Thought we did best for him to stay overnight. Felt they didn't really care for him. My sweet baby..
Horrible experience!! No Compassion!! Money Hungry!! When your dog is dying the only thing on your mind is saving your pet, that's why you rush to a Emergency Animal Clinic. I came in with my 3 year old dog because she was having a seizure and I did not know what was causing it. I called before bringing her in and they informed me that it would be 110.00 to see her so that's what I was prepared to pay but by the end of the visit it came to over 2,000.00 to try to save her and they would not do anything to try and save until the payment of 2,000 was made that day. I could not afford that but could do a payment plan but unfortunately they did not have that to offer. What made it worse was one of the female employees got a really nasty attitude and started to go on a rant about how they use to offer payment plans and they almost went bankrupt and had to close. I do believe my dog would be alive today if I just took her to another Animal Hospital. I really do regret ever stepping foot in that place. Words can't express how horrible they made me feel. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, YOUR PET DESERVES BETTER, YOU DESERVE BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!
East Metro Animal Emergency Clinic went above and beyond to help me on 3 different occasions. They are very compassionate and know what they are doing. Yes, it is true that emergency medicine is more expensive than a day practice would be, but isn't that the case in human medicine too? They are honest and fair. They give you an estimate for any charges prior to incurring any charges. There is no "sticker shock" and do everything they can to work within your budget. If you are a long-time pet owner like I am, you know that pet services are not free or cheap. Just the nature of the beast. I have a separate account for my babies for that reason alone. I am so glad they have been there to help my babies when no one else was open. Thank you for taking the time away from your families to help mine. You guys ROCK!
