It is now LaFontaine Subaru. Excellent experiences all the way around. Sales and service. I had a personal relationship with the Dwyer family for many years and when LaFontaine bought the dealership I thought "oh no". To my surprise nothing changed. In fact, it may have gotten better. 4 Subarus in and I'm not thinking another manufacturer. The best value in cars today. Keep up the great work.

I don't have service experience, but my buying experience here is terrible. I was looking for a new Impreza for 23.5k, while they were asking for 24k OTD. After few weeks of negotiation I finally accepted their 24k offer. However instead of making the deal, I was told "Sorry we can not sell you the Impreza at 24k. You have to pay 24.5k" WT*?! I asked they way and they said "I was just SUGGESTING you to raise your price to 24k, not saying that it's the price I will sell you at" Totally waste of my time.

In summary, I do not know about the service department, but if you want to buy here, they are lair and you better stay away from lairs. If they can lie on the price they offered, who knows in what condition the vehicle will be delivered? They can lie again on anything.

This is no longer Dwyer and sons it is now owned by Lafontaine motors and two separate dealers/locations (Subaru, Volvo) but the Dwyer family is still very much employed and involved in the automotive experience!

I visited three other Subaru dealers in SE Michigan before buying from Dwyer and Sons. It is not the closest to me, but was well worth the drive. The experience here was far better than at the others. Alissa, the salesperson, knows the product well, and could answer my questions intelligently. (The salespeople I talked to at each Suburban and Dunning could not, while the salesperson at Glassman did not seem interested in helping me at all.) The finance manager, Glen, explained the paperwork clearly, didn't try to jam me into anything, and even spent a few minutes reviewing options for finance terms and cash down. I was introduced to Frank Dwyer, one of the owners, who is also the service manager. The whole process was pleasant, low-pressure, and left me feeling that these are decent people all the way around.

Update, September, 2014 - Sadly, the dealership has changed hands and is now a LaFontaine dealership. The people I mentioned in the review are all gone.

I have been going to dealership ever since I moved back to Michigan. The service experience is one of the best. For example, I once went into the dealership for a routine service, knowing fully well that my clutch rubber pad has fallen off and was left on the floor of my car. I was planning to reinstall it myself when I got some time. I did not mention this to the service writer and told just told them my milage for the service. After the service, the clutch pedal pad was installed back on. This to me is what make a service experience, to go beyond what is asked with the small the details. If this team keeps exceeding my expectations, they have a customer for life.

Terrific service. Arrived from out of town with serious problems with our Subaru -- they accommodated us in a busy holiday schedule, and sorted everything. Service comparable to the best I've had in bigger dealerships, but more attentive to detail. They will have you drive the car into the service bay, examine the car with you as you describe the problems, and then let you wait in a WiFi-wired waiting area, with both a lounge and work cubicles (with power outlets). Decent restaurant, wine bar and bakery just across the street. Highly recommend.

This was my first visit to Dwyer and Sons Subaru dealership and I was very impressed. The waiting area was very clean & nice and the WiFi was easy to get on. Makes it easy for me to get work done while waiting for my car. Also, since my service appointment was going to take a little longer than normal, they offered me a loaner for the day. I talked with Alissa Goyfman in sales to learn all of the new things Subaru has to offer. She was great! I highly recommend this dealership to anyone who needs to service or buy a Subaru vehicle.
