We just moved to the area a few months ago. I thought it would be nice to have and eye doctor so close to where I live so I stopped in and made an appointment for my yearly check up. I got my check up and they were quick to tell me about their treatment for dry eyes that was $1000.
I said I would think about that later, with my check up my new glasses and my new contacts my total bill was over $1200. They made quite a production about their technology which I will say was is impressive, and telling me why they were the absolute best, and when you are a patient there you can call Up anytime even if you are away from home and lose a contact, they will replace it no questions asked and tell you where to go to pick it up.
The next day after my appointment, I had to take a business trip to Houston Texas. I was driving my rental car and my eyes started clouding over literally looked like I was driving in clouds. I removed one contact to find out it was my eyes it was not just my contacts. I looked in the mirror to see if my pupils look big or not, but I could not even see my eyes in the mirror my vision was leaving me so fast.
I pulled my car over into a parking lot and dialed dunes optical, and told them I had a real eye emergency. I told them my eyes were fogging over and I didn’t know why I told him I could not see to drive I was put on hold three different times and I kept saying I need to talk to a doctor now! They finally put a lady on the phone that was in charge of dry eyes treatment, she was very nice but she was not an eye doctor!
I was close to a Walmart so I walked in and said do you have an eye doctor on staff that can see me. They said yes we do and in 20 minutes I was seeing an eye Doctor Who explained that the clear care, that my doctor at dunes had prescribed, that I clean my contacts with, along with the solution that he prescribed that I wash my contacts with the next morning, was interacting with each other and causing a film on my eyeballs. He explained my vision was excellent and gave me some drops that cleared up the fog and with in 15 minutes I could see perfectly. They gave me an entire eye check up like you would get for a yearly check up, and fixed me up for $69!
I always say that Having the most technologically advanced optical facility is only as impressive as the service you get after the sale!!!
I was having a literal eye emergency and I couldn’t get them to let me talk to an eye doctor!!!
In a couple of days, the girl from the eye glasses part of their business, Brenda I believe, told me that sometimes on rare occasions Clear Care treatment for contact lenses can enter act with the lense solution and cause that film on the eyeballs!!!! She knew about that, but evidently the eye doctor didn’t consider that important enough to mention!!!
These are the FACTS and I am not a fan!!! I will be trading my $1200 technological advanced exam next year, for a $69 Walmart exam were I can actually talk to an eye doctor!
Dunes Optical, put your money and service where your mouth is!!!
The Dr. was nice, as was the reception. The technology is impressive. Very nice atmosphere and fairly quick in and out.
HOWEVER, do business elsewhere for purchasing frames. you can read my review of Rivers Edge on their page.
First visit today with Dr. Mike O'Neal and I was blown away by the whole experience! State of the art technology and wonderful staff! Very pleased I made the change and will be spreading the word to all my friends and family!
Great service from an excellent doctor. They use the most advanced technology to test your eyes and help you take care of your eyes properly. Dr Ferguson is excellent.
The most friendly and personable staff welcomes you every time. I came with significant issues with dry eyes and Dr. Fergusen has changed my life. There is no other clinic like this in the area with the cutting edge technology and therapies that make such a difference. I can participate in activities that were once painful to me including my passions of gardening and reading without the burning, gritty dry feeling I used to have. I can never say "THANK YOU" enough.
I believe they have a professional staff that tends to be very amiable. I have had positive results in all my experiences.
Great Office and staff.
State of the art equipment for eye exam, very friendly staff, time to get glasses made ~ very disappointing! My 11 year old was excited to get his glasses (yes, excited! to be able to see clearly again) only to be slightly disappointed to find out he'd have to wait (ordered Thurs, maybe complete on Mon or Tues). Called today ~ WEDNESDAY only to be told maybe Thursday they would be finished. I should've had eyes checked here ONLY and went to Lenscrafters for his first pair of glasses and NO waiting (nothing special needed with the lenses and DEC boasted about being able to make his glasses there without having to send them anywhere).
