A favorite place to eat for many years! As always, the food was very satisfying. One morning I had the Greek yogurt crepe which was delicious. Another morning we all had eggs. The home fries were awful. They had an unpleasant greasy aftertaste. Could not eat them.
The service was amazing though each table was occupied.
One meal we had tiny black bugs landing on the table and food. Our server said the land with blows them in. The other days were bug free. Most pleasant.

This place was such a treat to eat at! Beautiful views overlooking the ocean, shoelessly chilling in the sand while waiting for a table, and great food that came in healthy portions. I had the San Diego eggs Benedict, then returned a few days after for the Thanksgiving feast. The service was wonderful both times as well. Val and Kelly were awesome dudes, incredibly friendly and accommodating.

I love eating breakfast here! The ocean sparkles in front of you! The food is always fresh and delicious! The California Benedict is my favorite! Anytime I get to eat a whole avocado, I'm happy. Great bloody marys are a wonderful bonus! Just a really unique experience to get to eat right on the ocean.

Food was not good. We got fish & chips and a Greek salad with grilled chicken. Fish & chips were very salty, and I'm not usually bothered by a fair amount of salt. Greek salad was very simple, but not in a good way. Chicken was dry and tasteless. View was ok. Would only be good if on the very edge of the restaurant along the ocean side.

On top of the sub par food, our particular server was totally disinterested, bordering on rude. Can't think of a single reason to come back, unfortunately.

This place is right on the water. Beautiful scenery. We went for breakfast and the food was good. Service was good too. Only complaint we had was that it it cash only. They have an ATM on site but we felt this was inconvenient. Nevertheless, we plan on going back making sure we have cash in hand.

An oasis with friendly service. Great drink and superbe conch fritters and just about anything you order feels the touch of love on the dish. Oh yeah... Watch the surfers ride right in too. Can't be beat...

A bit nervous walking up due to the shabby look from the backside of the building however once we turned the corner this place was very inviting. Beautiful view of the beach and the hostess was great. Jerry was our waiter and he was highly efficient! The food was great and this was a great experience.

Gave it two stars because the food was good and a gentleman who I assume was the owner was very kind and was making small talk with us which was nice. However, the waitress ruined our whole experience and we won't be back because of her. She seemed miserable the whole time, not welcoming or friendly at all.

I used to be a server so I know sometimes you just have bad days but this waitress was giving us stank faces and an attitude the whole time for no reason. For example my cousin was ordering and she was talking over us loudly to ask her questions with an attitude. My sister then asked her if she could have avocado on her sandwich instead of tomato and she gave her a look like are you dumb, shook her head no, and gestured for her to hand her the menu. Food came out she never checked on us.

Then she puts us all on one bill so my sister asked if she can split it and again she gave her a stank face and agreed like it was a hassle. Check was split and then she tells us its cash only. I feel like that should have been mentioned when we sat down especially when their ATM charges you $3. So whatever I'm already annoyed she was giving us an attitude the whole time for no reason so we come back and yes did leave a tip but it wasn't 20% (not after her awful service). And as we put the money on the table she had her boss come over as she stood behind him again with a miserable look on her face I'm assuming to have him check that we paid it all or tipped her or whatever.

Obviously the customer service here is a problem from reading below and I encourage the owner to address how his employees treat the customers.

This was my first time visiting Dune Deck Cafe, with a friend that had been here several times. The food was fine, had a nice presentation, and came out quickly. That's why I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1.

The waiter was absolutely RUDE for seemingly no reason on our part. I arrived later than the others in my party and when I commented on the attitude and look he gave when I placed my order after asking a question or two, they said they felt the same way. In fact, they had him as a server once or twice previously and each time he was also RUDE!

I tried to ignore it even after I asked for more butter (the table ran out) and he gave another snobby look. However, he took it too far when he brought out one check without asking us if we wanted it split. This didn't make me mad, but his resulting comment "but the check is already there" and uncaring and lazy look on his face definitely did!

That's when the person he handed the check to went off on his for his rude behavior then and throughout the whole breakfast! We got the manager involved and, while he seemed apologetic, he didn't seem like he'd actually do anything about it. I will return, but he will never be my server again.

To the owner of this restaurant, you MUST address the behavior/attitude of this server ASAP because if you do not I guarantee you he WILL cost you money and cause you to LOSE clients. I'm not saying to fire him, because we all have bad days, but this is clearly a chronic issue (my friend experienced it with him 2-3 times) and he needs re-training!

Great place for breakfast on the beach with open ocean views... food is good... coffee is not great but doable with enough creamer and/or sugar... the only real downside is that they only take cash for payment... NO credit or debit cards accepted. Its been around a really long time and contributed to the character of the area.
