Desiccant-Filled Stoppers for Common Chemistry Labware:We invented Dry-tops in our laboratory at Furman University to solve a recurrent issue in the synthesis of water-sensitive compounds--- how do you store and ship materials without the water contamination that can lead to hydrolysis and product breakdown? Early iterations of dry-tops have been used in the lab for over a year now to protect highly hygroscopic organic compounds. The experimental successes led us to produce dry-tops on a large scale so that other laboratories can see how useful they are!
