RUN! Frighteningly aggressive and controlling care, all with a smiling face. Doctors seldom asked me for my consent, instead using verbiage like "I am going to do ____ now." When I asked for further explanation on things I didn't understand, they simply said I don't need to understand, I need to trust them "because they're my doctor" instead of explaining. There are so many red flags here. INFORMED CONSENT is every patient's basic right - any facility that grasps so hard for complete control is trying to take away your AUTONOMY, and birth is the last time you should be letting ANYONE else make your decisions for you, even a well experienced doctor. IF YOU STAY I highly recommend recording EVERY conversation you have with your doctor and video recording them during birth to protect yourself. PERSONALITY FIT IS NOT A GOOD ENOUGH REASON TO CHOOSE AN OBGYN FOR BIRTH - if you are not educated you will be taken advantage of in this town. Do research on global billing - Dothan OB switched to this system around February of this year, meaning that the doctor that is on call when your baby is delivered gets paid for your entire pregnancy. THIS IS INCENTIVE FOR THEM TO ENCOURAGE UNNECESSARY CSECTION or intervention methods so you deliver on their watch, and they do. If you're not from here you need to know that there is a 90% induction rate in this area. I said it once and I'll say it again, RUN. Women's Medical is a great alternative if you want to stay at Southeast, as is Women's Center in Enterprise.
I had the privilege of being under the care of Dr. Middleton, and I must say that he truly stood out as an outstanding OBGYN. One of the things I appreciated the most was how he took the time to thoroughly explain and answer all of my questions, ensuring I had a clear understanding of my treatment options.
He never rushed through any consultations, always giving me the time I needed. Overall, my experience with Dr. Middleton was exceptional, and I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking top-notch OBGYN care. Thank you, Dr. Middleton, for your professionalism, compassion, and dedication to your patient's well-being.
I used this clinic while pregnant with my son and I can absolutely say that they have been so kind, helpful, and understanding. I have a fear of doctors but Dr. Middleton made me feel so comfortable and I will continue to see him in the future. The staff is wonderful. My only complaint is with Dr. Gordon who delivered my son. He was extremely rude during my delivery and he ruined my birthing experience.
Dr Middleton is an amazing doctor. I switched providers at 36 weeks pregnant and I’m so glad that led me to him. He asked me about my birth plan and truly showed that he cared. I ended up needing an emergency C-section, but he did an amazing job. He talked to me afterwards and was very caring and gentle. (Also 11 months later, my scar looks pretty amazing! Perfectly straight and tiny!) I started having symptoms of PPD & PPA, and during my appointment with him, he assured me that this is because of an imbalance, and went out of his way to make me feel like a good mom, and I really felt cared for. I’m so thankful for him, and his care. I highly recommend this practice and especially Dr. Guy Middleton!
Dr. Middleton is simply THE BEST. He truly cares about his patients, and making your visit as comfortable as possible. He takes his time talking with you, you never feel rushed, and he will put your concerns at ease. The staff at this office are so kind as well. Brenda and Brandie have bent over backwards for me, to help me get in to see dr. and to answer any questions/concerns I had prior to visit. I highly recommend Dothan OBGYN.
I've been with Dothan OBGYN for 6 years. I am a repeat C-section and the last 3 have been emergency. I've had Dr. Robinson, Dr. Gordon and Dr. Middleton and they all did an AMAZING job. Now I am on my 6th C-Section with Dr. Phllips. Love this family!!!
No one can answer the phone switching doctors. Tired of being sent to a voicemail
Dr Scott was my doctor very sweet man but I switched over to Dr. Gordon when he was the one to deliver my son by emergency c section and saved both mine and my son's lives! Very good doctor and a great personalty to boot!
I came in for my second appointment i was supposed to get a prescription that i never recieved .. Dr. Middleton was checking my baby's heart.beat couldn't find it said it was ok I said I wasn't leaving until I hear my baby's heartbeat or get an explanation
This place is horrible they cancelled my first appointment. So i went back today drove 60 miles one way for them to tell me they cant see me cause someone put me in as new patient not pregnant. What the hell kind of doctor is this...
Dr. Robinson hands down best doctor ever
I love Dr Gordon and Dr Philips they've both been a blessing in my life💙💙💙👐🐣🐣
Dr. Middleton, hands down. He valued me as a person and a patient. He answered all my questions and he walked with me during my pregnancy, by that I mean he never called the shots. He listened and gave his opinion, but ultimately everything was my decision. He has something so many doctors lack now a days, compassion and empathy. I don't know him outside of the practice but I can bet he didn't enter the profession to get rich, he is one of the few. He is so VERY VBAC friendly. Even though I ended up with an on call doctor who bullied me into a c section, it's very healing (after such a traumatic time) to know that AT LEAST for 37 weeks of my pregnancy there was someone who BELIEVED in me, someone who CHALLENGED me to be healthy and who ALLOWED me to choose my birth....I'm forever grateful for that. I will remember him for the rest of my life, he literally gave me power over my pregnancy whereas the last two I had no power.
Dr. Phillips is just as VBAC friendly. She will also challenge you to remain healthy and encourage you. She is a woman, which I know some prefer.
Dr. Robinson, seems cold. He came after my c section and spent 30 seconds with me and said words like pannus and how if I didn't have it I would not get an infection. I'd like to see the research on the amount of "skinny" people who get incision infections.
Dr. Gordon..well just search for my review on him. Bully.
Dr. Gordon, at Dothan OBGYN, has been my doctor for ten years. I would feel comfortable seeing any of the doctors at Dothan OBGYN if Dr. Gordon were out of town and I had an emergency of some sort. Dr. Gordon has seen me through three pregnancies, ovarian cysts and two surgical procedures. He cares about his patients like no other doctor I have ever seen. His nurses and staff have always been top notch and the group he is with now is the best OBGYN group in Dothan, HANDS DOWN.
