Staff was nice and friendly. It seemed 95% of the campground was permanent residents. There are trees on the outside of the grounds with 1 or 2 on the actual grounds.
Our fire pit and picnic table were right next to our black water drain on the back side of the camper. The site was mud that they tried to put some hay down over. The highway is right next to the campgrounds so it was noisy. Our view was either other campers or a parking lot.
At the front desk we were charged 6 pieces of wood for $5.00, not bad. But when we went to night registration to get the wood the sign said 7 pieces of wood for $5.00. So if you need wood.get it at the night registration office.
This is definitely a just passing through kind of place.

Spectacular views some awesome stories to hear from your tour guides. Service is really good with professional attitude. Also got a small gift shop on site so you can get your cool little gadgets for memories

It's primarily an RV park but there are several spots for primitive camping that are ideal for solo campers ($12/person/night). Each tent site has a fire pit and picnic table and you don't need reservations - it's first come first serve. The park is well lit and I felt very safe as a solo female traveler. The caverns themselves are really cool and I recommend checking them out for sure. The only downside is that the site is immediately off the highway, and the noise from the interstate traffic can be distracting. However by my second night there I hardly noticed it.

Had a blast with the kids here. We had a rainy day at the lake and this was a neat and educational way to get out of the house. A lot of stairs but there is a lot of stopping and asking questions with the guide. Free for kids under 4.

We stayed two nights at Dixie Caverns in February 2017. The staff were very helpful. We have 4 dogs. They willingly set us up in a spot away from most campers which is what we asked them to do. The site was level and it was easy to negotiate the roads We will stay there again as it is in an area that is a reasonable distance for a first stop on any trip we schedule.

Cavern tour was pretty cool. Interesting formations and paths. Different from some other Virginia caves in that it's mostly stair climbing, as opposed to walking on packed earth.

The campground is neat, functional and clean, although a little packed. The view it's beautiful because it's right next to a hill, but it's also right next to the freeway.

Stayed one night on our way through VA to TN. Staff is friendly, rest rooms and showers were very clean.Traffic from the highway was audible but not horrible in our RV. I imagine in a tent would be much noisier. We didn't have time for any exploring or shopping in the park or area. Park is small and there are quite a few full time residents but was well kept. Cable TV and wifi included with price although wifi was in and out. Overall nice stay for our money.

Completely unique attraction. Great for kids and adults. Quick but entertaining tour. Good if you're on a budget and a cool gift shop and antique store.
